Android One could allow Google to place up to 2 million more smartphones in India by the end of the year. Paltry compared to the entire mobile platform (which has long exceeded one billion units sold), but they represent only the beginning of a new phase for Google. According to the vice president Mohit Brushan of MediaTek, the demand in India for Android One devices came from 1,5000,000 to 2,000,000 units by the end of this year.
The first smartphone platforms were officially unveiled a few days ago, with excellent technical features in relation to the list price.
MediaTek is one of the closest partners in Google for the first wave of devices of the platform, as a provider of SoC installed on almost all devices manufactured by Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. To the Chinese producer will be added in the near future Qualcomm, with a new proprietary platform.
Currently, Android One are offered with a MediaTek MT6582 chip, at a cost that varies between $95 and $110 at current exchange rate. The new platform is marketed one of the most interesting projects from Google, although at the moment we are not directly involving. The goal of Android One is to bring user experience smooth and pleasant inside smartphones not just the first level, on terminals from the greatly reduced price.
Android One fits perfectly with another plane parallel to Google, also shared with Facebook. The two companies have been imposed to bring the Internet around the world, not only to improve the quality of life in the less well-off, but also to deliver their services in areas not yet explored minimally from the web. MediaTek estimates represent only the beginning of the platform and could expand significantly once Android One will be released in other geographical areas.
