Microsoft unveils new learning tools OneNote, an additional component of the note-taking software, useful for easy reading and writing. Tool also suitable for students with specific learning disabilities.
Microsoft has shown a particular attention to the education and learning sector. A problem addressed by the Redmond with different methods ranging from those most closely linked to the approach play – see the recent announcement of Minecraft: Education Edition – up to the use of useful software such as OneNote, enriched with features that simplify basic learning activities such as writing and reading. To achieve this last aim Microsoft today announced the new Learning Tool of OneNote.
It is an add-in that enhances the toolbar OneNote 2013 and 2016 with two instruments, Immersive Reader and Dictate, and two additional buttons to control the settings and send useful feedback to Microsoft, since, at the time, of a component released beta. In greater detail, the mode ” Immersive Reading ” simplifies the reading of the texts inserted into OneNote pages by reformatting the text in a layout that minimizes distractions and supports a high-contrast mode; it is also foreseen a specific function for voice reading the text and possible enlargement automatically highlight individual components of the text, such as verbs and adverbs. The user can intervene also on the spacing and font size.
According to information provided by Microsoft, the advanced reading and writing tools improve learning outcomes in a targeted way: advanced dictation allows you to enhance the creation of the text activities.
The immersive mode enhances understanding and always keeps alive with the attention, and the ability to highlight parts of speech simplifies education and improves the quality of writing. As anticipated at the beginning, to benefit from new tools are both the most gifted students, or both those with specific learning disorders such as dyslexia.
New learning tools OneNote are available at the time, in the form of add-released in beta version.
