Compact size but great expandability with Shuttle SZ170R8
The new evolution of the mini-PC barebone shuttle family, with Shuttle SZ170R8 model, changing internal shape ensuring a better installation capacity of components in-house.
Years ago the Taiwanese Shuttle has first contributed to the market penetration of the category of so-called Mini-PC Barebones, solutions providing for the combination of small chassis, custom motherboard, cooling system and power supply.
Over the years, the traditional design of the Shuttle systems has not been able to collect the original interest, replaced by other forms of differentiated form factor and chassis. The Taiwanese company, however, returns to the market with a new proposal, which, thanks to some internal changes, can accommodate a far greater number of components than in the past.
Shuttle SZ170R8, the name of the new model can accommodate within itself up to a maximum of 4 hard disks from 3 1/2 inches and as well as allowing the installation of a video card with the cooling system 2-slot length and average high. We speak in this case of the medium to high end video cards, those which insure the frames per second always high even in combination at high resolutions and thrust quality settings.
To get to this type of internal configuration shuttle has removed the compatibility with the 5-inch optical reader and 1/2 internal to the chassis, by integrating a suction fan in the front part that operates in a balanced way with that of whipped extraction posteriorly.
The remaining features see Intel Z170, for matching with Intel Core-based Skylake architecture processors, one PCI Express 16x Gen type 3.0, 1 PCI Express 4x more in January 3.0, 1 M.2 connector for storage units one Mini-PCI Express 1x type Gen 2.0 slot. Other features include 4 memory slots DDR4 modules, 4 SATA 6 Gbps connectors, 8 ports USB 3.0 and a 500 watt power supply for maximum power.
The Shuttle SZ170R8 product is already available on the market, at a price of $450. It includes chassis, motherboard and power supply. To complete the system must be integrated storage solution, memory and processor. More information is available at this address.
