BenQ PV3200PT and BenQ PV270 are two new monitor designed for the needs of a professional video editor.
The particular characteristics: high-resolution, color fidelity at the highest levels and large calibration possibilities.
BenQ has launched the new PV series, range of monitors aimed at advanced film and video post-production. These are devices designed for the professional editor or retoucher which requires ” accurate color without compromise, ” according to the proclamations of the company, combined with high video resolution.
At the moment, there are two models in the new PV family, BenQ PV3200PT and BenQ PV270, in addition to professional monitors household PG (pre-press), SW (photographers) and BL (designers, designers and creative).
BenQ PV3200PT is the first monitor that BenQ designs specifically for the needs of the experts of the video post-production. The panel is an IPS LCD 32-inch 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840×2160 pixels) that offers the user wide viewing angles, 250cd / m² maximum brightness and 5ms response time GtG.

According to data released by the company, the monitor offers a 100% and 100% sRGB gamut also regarding the Rec. 709. Considering the intended use, it is natural to find support for calibration hardware and software on.

Gamut, white point, brightness and color temperature can be adjusted through the suite Palette Master Element, with which you can also adjust settings even more specific for professionals. Hardware calibration and a 3D LUT 14-bit can reach an average Delta E ≦ 1.5, providing high accuracy in the reproduction of images in relation to the original source. BenQ also ensures that the display characteristics (brightness, contrast, color fidelity) are kept uniform throughout the panel.
BenQ PV270 also caters to professionals of the video post-production and digital film editing. Also in this model the panel is of course an IPS LCD, but the diagonal is 27 ” and the maximum supported resolution is 2560×1440 pixels, known as Quad HD. The color spaces include Rec. 709 to 100%, to DCI-P3 Adobe RGB 96% and 99%. The certification Technicolor Color certified ensures the display brightness, color gamut and gamma. BenQ PV270 can be calibrated with Palette Master, exploiting hardware tools.
The monitor also boasts support for 24P, allowing the user to view the video with the correct timing and faithful to the native film scanning. Both models come with an optional SDK that gives the ability to have a wider scope for action in the calibration phase. BenQ has not yet announced prices for the market, although we will be much higher than traditional productions designed for the consumer market.
