Lenovo announces the family of the PHAB line terminals, consists of three models: PHAB 2 Pro, PHAB 2 Plus and PHAB 2.
The first group is not likely to go unnoticed. This is the first phablet to use the Tango developed by Google (reality technology increased for the mobile devices).
Lenovo has officially unveiled its new range of devices PHAB 2 part of the press event held in San Francisco. These are three phablet Android Marshmallow, or PHAB 2 Pro, PHAB 2 Plus and PHAB 2.
Reason arouses interest, in particular, the PHAB 2 Pro is the first phablet Android intended for the consumer segment, equipped with the technology Tango developed by Google. Tango identifies the project for augmented reality on the mobile device, which is preparing, finally, to make its debut in the market, after the prototypes presented in past months.
Lenovo PHAB 2 Pro
PHAB 2 Pro, as the name suggests, is a phablet or a terminal equipped with a particularly large size displays. The screen with qHD resolution has in a 6.4″ diagonal positioning the near end of the tablet with 7″ screens.
The hardware platform is based on the Snapdragon SoC 652, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the battery has a capacity of 4,050 mAh.
The sub-camera comprises a total of four modules. Three are positioned at the rear and one on the front. At the traditional rear camera 16 megapixel and to that 8 megapixel front are added together a rear module for the tracking of the movement and a further rear module for detecting the depth of field.
A hardware needed to realize the peculiarity of the tablet, namely the ability to perform the mapping of the physical space, the tracking of objects and playing on the phablet screen virtual representations located in the real environment.
The potential of Lenovo PHAB 2 Pro as a tool for managing content in Augmented Reality will be enhanced by 25 apps available at launch that will range from games,educational apps and entertainment. Lenovo estimated to be about 100 apps optimized for the Tango technology later this year.
It is an emerging technology that PHAB 2 Pro will provide the general public, but which, in the future, could also be integrated in devices less extreme given the overall size: PHAB 2 Pro measuring 179.83 x 88.57 x 6.96 mm and has a weight of 259 grams.
PHAB 2 Pro that SoC aside, it is in effect a high-end devices, will be available in September at a price of $499. More information on the price set for the remaining markets will be announced later.
Lenovo PHAB 2 Plus and Lenovo PHAB 2
The innovative Lenovo phablet is part of a triplet of a device that also includes the PHAB 2 Plus and PHAB 2. In all cases, these phablet but changes the standard equipment, revised downwards compared the model pro; also it lacks support for Tango features. Both models will be available from September worldwide. Prices will be equal to $299 for PHAB 2 Plus and $199 for the PHAB 2.
