Everything Canon: Presented the EOS M100, 4 L Series Lenses and a Flash
The first is a mirrorless camera, the EOS M100. The entry level M10, this introduces the new 24.2MP sensor with Dual Pixel AF (for the first time on the band).
After the recent introduction by Nikon of the D850, today, Canon is introducing a number of new products EOS M100.
The Canon EOS M100 sensor is as always a Canon APS-C (1.6x crop) and is supported by the image processor in its latest iteration, the Digic 7. The screen is touch screen, tilting and tilting upwards, from 3 ” to about one million points (ideal for selfies. It is not by chance that skin standing is also available).
The burst is up to 4 frames per second, which can reach 6.1 by using the fixed AF. The ISO range is 100 to 25600 and there is obviously Wi-Fi with NFC (but without Bluetooth). The EOS M100 is capable of recording videos in fullhd up to 60p or automatic timelapse (always in Full-HD). It will be sold from October 2017 in Black, White or Bicolour, with the EF-M 15-45mm collassable lens.
The first objective today is the Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM, a classic portrait lens that integrates the already good offer of the home on this focal point, ranging from 85mm f/1.8 to cheap and 85mm f/1.2L USM. The optical pattern is composed of 14 elements in 10 groups. The diaphragm is made up of 9 lamellae and the optical stabilization – a welcome addition – is accredited by 4 STOPs.
The lens is robust, made with the classic look and feel of the L series, and is weather resistant. The auto focus is operated by the Canon’s ultrasonic (USM) motor, fast and accurate, and can be activated at any time thanks to the large front bezel. Availability is set for November 2017, slightly above the 85mm f/1.4 of Sigma.
Along with this, Canon has also presented 3 Tilt-shift ” macro ” lenses, with focal lengths of 50mm, 90mm and 135mm. All of these TS-E lenses have a macro function with a 1: 2 playback ratio (maximum magnification of 0.5x) and have super UD lenses to capture sharper images, reduce refraction, and optimize chromatic balance.
Starting from the first, the Canon TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro is a lens that replaces the old TS-E 45 f/2.8 and combines decentralization with tilt, rotation and macro mode (1: 2 magnification ). Canon says this lens is designed to create creative landscape photos, architectural details and studio photos.
On this lens, you can mount an add-on that allows you to reach the magnification ratio of 1: 1. The second and third targets of the series, the Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro and the Canon TS-E 135mm f/2.8L Macro, are designed for creative portraits, studio photography and macro photography thanks to a close-range focusing distance (49cm for 135mm). The three targets will be available for purchase from November 2017.
The latest product presented today is the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT flash. As you imagine from the name and the image, this is a flash for macro photography. The lights can be positioned around the lens at 5° intervals and can be rotated or approached or distanced.
The flash is equipped with loudspeakers for each head to make the light softer when used to make portraits, and also incorporates an AF aid system made with white LEDs, also useful for evaluating the final effect of light on the object photographed.
Charging time has been shortened up to 5.5 seconds down to 2.5 seconds using the CP-E4N battery (optional). The RT system incorporates a built-in RT system that allows you to control up to 15 external units (Canon compatible) in 5 groups (by radio frequency). The flash will be on sale from November 2017.
Product prices and availability are subject to change. Any price and availablility information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of any products.
