HP Omen X comes with a top-of-the-range gaming laptop ready for overclocking with unlocked CPU
HP announces the release of a new high-end gaming laptop, the Omen X model: top features and even unlocked CPUs, squeezing the eye to overclocking enthusiasts.
Gaming laptops are becoming more and more popular, because many components for the mobile world over time have become more powerful than those of the corresponding desktop versions. Chip video and SSD, for example (talking about high end) are identical, so choosing a gaming top gaming gamer can have several advantages like portability and footprints.
HP, in this context, announced the new Oman X laptop with top features and even unlocked CPUs, squeezing the eye to overclocking enthusiasts, even on the RAM and GPU fronts. The series is equipped with unlocked Core i7 processors, as well as the presence of a single panel that provides instant access to CPU, RAM and storage.
Speaking of display are two options offered by HP: the first includes a 17-inch full-HD 1920×1080 pixel 120GHz G-Sync, which can be preferred a 4K model of diagonally but whose additional features are for now not declared. It’s about choosing between Full HD with all the features or pointing to the 4K.
For all models, there is a mechanical keypad with RGB backlight and programmable macro keys as well as DTS audio, dual headphone jack connector, Bang & Olufsen speaker, USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, SD card reader and important two Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Techpowerup cites the two input configurations and top of the range, which we will now describe. The input model, which will cost $1,999, will include the GTX 1070 video chip in conjunction with the 1,920×1,080 pixel G-Sync display previously quoted, 16GB of RAM, Core i7-7700HQ, 256GB SSD and 1TB mechanical hard drive.
It spends almost double for the top of the range ($3,699) but brings home a real monster: Intel Core i7-7820HK unlocked, 32GB of RAM, two 1TB SSD configurable in RAID 0 plus 1TB mechanical hard drive, video chip GTX 1080, 4K screen. If you are wondering how this manna is cooled, HP has created a composite system of special fans and vapor chamber technology that should be able to do its job extravagantly.
