New Fujifilm X-A5 with Fujinon XC15-45mm motorized zoom lens
When combined with the new Fujinon XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens, the new Fujifilm X-A5 weighs only 496g and takes up very little space: it now uses a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor with a detection autofocus system phase.
Today Fujifilm presented its new entry level of the X Series mirrorless family: Fujifilm X-A5. As already happened in the past, camera adopts a sensor of classic type (with a Bayer matrix color filter) and not the X-Trans sensor, which instead characterizes the models of upper range and represents the real strength of Fuji products.
The new born of Japanese brand aims at compact size, lightness, new autofocus system and aggressive price to act as entrance step in the world of Fujifilm mirrorless. Although not having brought the X-Trans technology on this model, Fujifilm has introduced a series of innovations that allows the new X-A5 to make a leap in quality compared to models that preceded it.
This new model now uses a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor equipped with a phase-detection autofocus system and a newly developed image processing processor that offers a 1.5x faster calculation speed than previous models. For pointing, it offers a tilting 3.0″ touchscreen display, which can rotate 180° to front for selfies.
When combined with new Fujinon XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens, the X-A5 weighs only 496g and takes up very little space, and can even fit in the pocket of a jacket. The new lens is first motorized zoom of X-Mount series and starts from a wide-angle focal length equivalent to a 23mm full format. Interesting the minimum focusing distance of 13 centimeters to lower focal length, equal to 5 centimeters from front lens.
The motorization of zoom allows a fluid change of focal even during video recordings. For movies, 4K is available, even if only 15 fps, Full HD 10280p at 60/50 fps and High Speed 1280×720 pixels 1.6x / 2x / 3.3x / 4x. Also available is the 4K Burst function which shoots 15 frames per second in 4K quality, which can also be used for Multi Focus mode which automatically adds 4K images, taken at different focusing points.
Sensitivity can natively go up to ISO 12,800, while in extended mode up to ISO 51,200. There is no lack of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for continuous connection to the smartphone and instant sharing of photos via social networks.
