Android P: New OS between gesture, parental control and IA
On the stage of the Google I/O 2018 was finally officially presented the new version of the smartphone operating system that the Mountain View company will release in the coming months. Here are the news.
Android is more alive than ever, and the Google I/O 2018 has been presented what users will see in their smartphones in the future. Android P will be out by the end of this year and will have so many completely new elements as a new dashboard that will allow you to see how many times and when and for how long a particular application was used.
But the news will also be to allow the user to set limits to himself or maybe set to see for half an hour Instagram and once this half hour is over the icon will become a gradient in gray tone.
But not only because Android P will include a new way to interact with the user. It will use navigation gestures similar to those seen on iPhone X but will also allow you to use new, more intelligent features that are often not used because they are hidden. Android P is full of graphic changes but also functional, and above all Google wants to allow you to use a smartphone with Android discovering the same day after day.
Android P and Navigation with Gestures
Android P actually changes its interface and does so in an important way by introducing the Gesture we had seen on iPhone X and now are also introduced on Android even if completely differently and especially in full compatibility with Android.
There is still a Home button to return to the main screen and there is still the button to go back but all the rest of the navigation is done via gesture. Just scroll up to get an overview of all open applications and then enter multitasking. Scrolling up again will enter the taskbar. In this case, there will no longer be a button to call up multitasking and the one to go back will only be in applications.
Also interesting to discover how the new Android P not having the multitasking button in the bottom bar can afford to occupy that space to insert new buttons. Here you can find, for example: the rotation button that will be displayed only if you rotate the phone in landscape. Touching the screen, if previously locked, can be unlocked by tapping the button.
Also new in the screenshots as users can annotate anything directly on the screenshot image before saving or sharing it. We had also seen it during the first release of the Developer Preview, Google, has decided to change their quick toogle. The icons will now be blue and will no longer have any drop-down menus below them, but you can enter the menu by holding down the same icon.
Android P and parental control
Smartphone addiction is increasingly important, and this Google knows it well. Here is that according to the company of Mountain View is a good time to try to lighten this addiction. This is why it has developed a new feature that allows you to have everything under control. The application will allow you to have different types of information such as how many minutes the smartphone was used, or how many notifications were received. You will have a pie chart in which you will see the time used by each type of application during the day.
DashBoard will allow you to have a real relationship with your Android smartphone with the awareness of what you really do every day. In this it will be possible, for example, to pause a certain application that will become completely gray. But also set usage limits for children.
There will also be a function called Wind down that will allow you to tell your smartphone when it’s time to go to bed. The same daily will switch to ” do not disturb ” mode and will become completely gray. It will still work, but the user will know that it is breaking the time when it is usually necessary to go to bed.
Android P and Artificial Intelligence
Google has directly presented to the Google I/O 2018 its willingness to intensify its commitment to further introduce Artificial Intelligence into its own ecosystem. Here’s also Android P will benefit and will do so in some interesting features that will make the company said smartphone more intelligent.
For example: there will be a new battery management where Artificial Intelligence will be introduced for better management of the same. Here is that the smartphone and the AI will report the apps that have been used and turn off those that have not been used for some time. The same thing will be done by the light sensor that will adapt even better over time and based on the use that will be made of the smartphone based on habits.
Not only because Android P will allow you to have new buttons that will only appear out of necessity. Here is that if the user will make a specific search, it will be possible for Google to show direct links to those searches or maybe even a button to automatically call a contact.
