Honeywell Lyric C2: The camera for home security
Honeywell extends its Lyric system for the home connected to the Lyric C2 camera: simpler installation, Full HD resolution and greater viewing angle for home-video surveillance.
The Honeywell solutions of the Lyric family in a domestic environment. It is an ecosystem that includes intelligent thermostat, cameras for indoor surveillance and sensors that detect water leaks from their systems.
The system is managed by an application installed on your smartphone, obviously compatible with both iOS and Android devices, and allows you to have a single point of access to all relevant information in your home environment. Honeywell has recently released a second video camera, model Lyric C2, which joins the Lyric C1 already on the market improving its technical specifications in a marked measure.
Honeywell has intervened in two fundamental elements: the resolution has increased, going from 720p to 1080p Full HD. In addition to this the viewing angle has been increased, now up to 145° and capable of collecting a portion of the scene much wider than before. This way, you can better control large environments by installing a single camera.
Among the other innovations implemented in the Lyric C2 camera, we point out the digital zoom, passed from the previous 5x to 6x and with higher final quality thanks to the increased resolution. The night-vision field is doubled, from 5 to 10 meters, and equally applies to the adjustable surveillance areas that pass from 2 to 4. The integrated microphone is now able to detect the crying of children, sending a special alarm message.
We find again in Lyric C2 some features that had already been implemented in the Lyric C1 model: we signal the bidirectional audio, to be able to communicate via voice with those in front of the camera, as well as the ability to record and save video streams both in the cloud, and on an 8 Gbytes SD card supplied.
The fixing mechanism has been modified, as well as the external shape: now the camera is mounted on a tilting front and back with an angle that is much wider than that of the Lyric C1 model. It is now possible to install the camera by hanging it both on the wall and on the ceiling, orientating it to the preferred angle.
Confirmed the ease of configuration already experimented with the model Lyric C1: simply install the Honeywell Home APP downloaded from the store and proceed to the detection of the camera, which will be assigned a name so that it can be easily identified.
From the APP, it is possible to view the images in real time, configure the level of detection of sounds or movements within the monitored environment and set the intervention threshold of the geofencing function. The latter automatically turns on the camera when you are at a distance set by your home, thus avoiding that images are recorded automatically when you are at home.
Lyric C2 extends Honeywell’s smart home ecosystem of solutions by improving the quality and flexibility of installing the video surveillance solution.
