Panasonic Toughbook FZ-L1: The lightweight and versatile work rugged tablet
Panasonic has announced a new rugged tablet for the world of work, characterized by relatively small size and weight for the category.
With a 56% share of the rugged tablet market, Panasonic is the undisputed leader. And it is from this perspective that launches a new 7″ model, Panasonic Toughbook FZ-L1, thought with an eye to the world of work. This is an Android device with a reinforced body able to provide the worker with a great tool versatility with the optional barcode reader, excellent reliability, and good value for money.
The tablet intends to support various sectors, such as retail and hospitality, manufacturing, transport and logistics. In the retail and hospitality sector, the new member of the Toughbook family can help with real-time orders, inventory controls and goods location; while in logistics, it can help for job routing, navigation and inventory management and proof of delivery. Toughbook FZ-L1 can also be a support in the warehouse, for activities such as confirmation of withdrawal, operations management and identification of goods.
Toughbook FZ-L1 is available in Wi-Fi version, for those working in interior spaces, and with voice and data functionality for those who do not have a fixed location. The product has a weight of 480 grams, despite the presence of a rugged body that protects it from any physical stress.
The new tablet is offered with a high-efficiency 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage, and is based on Android 8.1 Oreo software side. The battery allows you to complete an entire work shift, and can be replaced by heat without interrupting the work and turning off the device.
Toughbook FZ-L1 resists, according to the company, to falls from heights of 150 cm on asphalt or rigid materials, and is MIL-STD810G certified against vibrations and other stresses. It has a HD panel with a diagonal 7″ (1,280×720) protected by a glass Dragontrail Pro, which can also be read under the sun.
The multitouch can also work with the use of gloves and in the rain, with the display that also supports the input of a passive nib that must be purchased separately. The IP-65/67 certification for resistance to liquids and powders is not missing.
The device can be customized in eight different versions: with or without enterprise-class barcode reader not angled for 1D, 2D or QR codes, with Wi-Fi or 4G LTE connection, and with Google Mobile Services installed or not.
There will be no lack of dedicated accessories such as cradles, holster belts, battery sets, passive stylus pens, screen protector membranes and single and multiple chargers. The tablet will be sold with COMPASS 2.0 services integrated in the fall of 2018, both in the Wi-Fi and 4G LTE versions.
