Apple A12 Bionic beats all the CPUs. Better than Snapdragon 855 and Kirin 980. Here are the results
The first results come on the clashes between the most performing processors of the moment, that is those of Apple, Qualcomm but also Huawei. A challenge to the last benchmark that sees the supremacy of the Cupertino company.
The latest generation smartphones are able to have today more and more important performances such as to beat even the CPU that we often find in our Mac or PC. In this case, the famous leaker, Ice Universe, decided to put the most important hardware platforms of the moment in challenge among themselves in a purely performance and substantially numerical test. Apple A12 Bionic, HiSilicon Kirin 980 but also Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 were made ” turn ” with the platform of Geekbench returning somehow even surprising results.
Apple A12 Bionic is the King of the CPU
Looking specifically at the results, here is the new processor from Apple, A12 Bionic, inserted in the new iPhone XS and XS Max but also in the future iPhone XR, practically outclass all other contenders.
The results obtained to see Apple’s CPU reach 4,822 in single-coretests with even 11,508 in multi-core ones. The difference with the other CPUs is really important because the only one to stay behind Apple is the new Kirin 980 which gets 3,390 points in single-core and 10,318 points in multi-core. The new Snapdragon 855, which we remember is still under development, currently reach respectively 3,469 and 10,259 points in single and multi-core.
- Apple A12 Bionic : 4.822 (Single-Core) / 11.508 (Multi-Core)
- Huawei Kirin 980 : 3.390 (Single-Core) / 10.318 (Multi-Core)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 : 3.469 (Single-Core) / 10.259 (Multi-Core)
Interesting to note the fact that the CPU architectures made by Huawei and Qualcomm work with 8 cores while that of Apple instead owns 6 cores. To be specified also the fact that as regards the processor of the company of Cupertino, we speak of a component already in production within smartphones just sold for a few weeks while for others, we know that the Kirin will equip the next Huawei Mate 20 line so there could still be some room for improvement. The Snapdragon instead is a CPU that in all likelihood, we will see even at the beginning of 2019 with new device top of the Android range.
To all this, we can only add the fourth challenger, Samsung, which we know also realizes proprietary CPU and then proposes it within the devices of the Galaxy line. The new Exynos 9820 is still under development but according to Ice Universe, the potential of the new CPU could be really impressive even with single-core scores between 4,200 and 4,300 and multi-core between 11,800 and 12,000. A challenge still open to Apple.
