Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, Fit and Buds: These are the three new wearables
During the same launch event of the Galaxy S10 and the innovative Galaxy Fold, Samsung has also found space for several new models of wearable devices.
The new wearable devices announced by Samsung, have been somewhat muted, under the blows of the booming presentations of the Galaxy S10 and, above all, of the Galaxy Fold. During the event, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Fit and the new Galaxy Buds also took to the stage. This is the new wearable line-up of the Korean company: a smartwatch, two activity trackers and a pair of ” true wireless ” earphones.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active
This device is designed to combine fitness and sport functions with an elegant design for users who are also interested in the aesthetic aspect.
On the level of features, the differences with the traditional Galaxy Watch should not be marked, but on the design Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is thinner, lighter and more versatile, with a high availability of sports straps, which makes a wide choice possible during the of personalization. The ring on the standard model of the family is also missing.
In addition to tracking fitness activities, the smartwatch uses a holistic approach to monitoring the data that matters most. It can analyze different types of activities, such as physical exercises and sleep, also monitoring functions related to the health aspect, giving advice on the best practices to follow.
Among the features we have :
- Blood pressure monitoring, a new feature in Samsung’s wearable line-up. By downloading the My BP Lab app, developed with the University of San Francisco, the watch can analyze blood pressure data every day, thus monitoring the wearer’s physical health on an ongoing basis.
- Stress management : the Stress Tracker allows you to measure stress levels and offers advice on how to improve this aspect in order to improve the user’s health in the long term. He also recommends breathing exercises to improve in this area.
- Simple Fitness Tracking : just choose the activity and start with the workout, and the clock takes care of the rest. Galaxy Active can also automatically detect when the user runs, rides a bike, uses certain tools or starts a dynamic activity. 39 different types of activities are supported, as on Galaxy Watch, and daily goals can be set to monitor progress.
The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices, resists diving with a maximum depth of 50 meters and can receive notifications and reply to messages or calls without having to interact with the paired smartphone. On the hardware side, we have a 1.1″ AMOLED display with 360×360 pixel resolution, an Exynos 9110 processor with 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a 230 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e
Samsung has also announced two new smartbands, designed for all types of users, regardless of their athletic preparation. They are characterized by a smaller and thinner body than the watch, and can be worn without problems throughout the week. All offering different monitoring functions for different types of activities, such as running, biking, indoor ellipticals, or even dynamic activities.
You can be also manually select more than 90 different activities in the Samsung Health app, and smartbands will be able to analyze the benefits. The devices also support sleep monitoring and stress levels management, have a simplified interface and can receive reminders and messages from the synchronized device, as well as alarms, notifications of calendar appointments and weather information.
Samsung Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e can be submerged under water at depths of up to 50m and use Realtime OS. The differences are mainly in size and display: Galaxy Fit uses a 0.95″ 120×240 pixel Full Color AMOLED display with MCU Cortex M3F CPU; Galaxy Fit e is smaller and uses a 0.74″ monochrome PMLED at 64×128 pixel resolution and an MCU Cortex M0 integrated SoC.
Samsung Galaxy Buds
The new true wireless earphones are designed to work with all devices compatible with the Bluetooth protocol, and free the user from cables. According to the company, they use a comfortable design, simple controls for the management of functionality and multimedia reproduction, and offer a ” clear and smart ” sound within a compact form factor, optimized by AKG. These are earphones to use all day, with some goodies.
For example : Enhanced Ambient Sound allows you to continue to hear clearly what is happening in the environment even when wearing earphones, calling or listening to music. Adaptive Dual Microphone instead allows you to improve the recording of the wearer’s speech, using the two integrated microphones in each earpiece to provide good performance in quiet environments, and especially when there is noise.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds allow you to have up to 6 hours of music playback via Bluetooth and up to 5 hours of calls, with batteries that can be recharged through the small case that is supplied (in 15 minutes you will get almost two hours charge for earphones). The Galaxy Buds also support wireless charging, compatible, for example: with the new Galaxy S10.
