More and more AI for Google Cloud, which also offers hybrid cloud with Anthos
Google Cloud evolves and offers various solutions that use artificial intelligence to simplify infrastructure management. A collaboration with HPE and the use of Anthos also open the doors to the hybrid cloud.
The Google Cloud Next conference ended a few days ago, and the company announced some news regarding its cloud infrastructure. In addition to the innovations introduced in the Google Cloud platform, Google also announced a collaboration with HPE aimed at simplifying the hybrid cloud.
Google Cloud Next: artificial intelligence to improve cloud computing
The main theme of Google Cloud Next was artificial intelligence, adopted for various purposes and in various fields. Perhaps the most relevant is that of security, thanks to features such as Even Threat Detection that constantly monitor the situation and detect malware, crypto miner, outgoing DDoS attacks and other suspicious activities.
The system automatically detects these activities and notifies the administrator, so that it is possible to intervene to stop them. There is also an automatic scan of the infrastructure (called Security Health Analytics) which allows to detect any problems in the configuration such as open ports on the firewall or dated encryption keys.
The Cloud Security Scanner instead deals with analyzing the infrastructure in search of vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting (XSS), the use of passwords in the clear or dated libraries that can make the system vulnerable. More details on these elements can be found in the Google blog article.
Even Cloud AutoML, the Google machine learning platform that makes machine learning more accessible to be integrated into multiple products and applications has been expanded. The service is extended beyond the boundaries of image recognition alone, since it is also applied to video and the interpretation of natural language.
Google Cloud for Retail, on the other hand, is the platform that the company offers to companies that sell directly to customers and who need tools for their business, from the management of operations at the point of sale to the acquisition and management of the customer or to marketing. Companies that already use the platform include IKEA, Metro and Carrefour. More details are available at this address.
HPE and Google Cloud simplify the hybrid cloud
More and more companies rely on various forms of cloud computing, and one of the most widespread is the hybrid cloud, in which the public cloud coexist, provided by a company like Google or Amazon, and the private cloud, which the company deals with same.
However, bringing these two souls together is not always simple and requires some work. The use of solutions like Google Anthos means that this integration is simpler, and it is in this context that HPE is introduced, announcing the availability of servers compatible natively with Anthos.
HPE will offer two HPE Validated Designs for Anthos. These designs are based on HPE Nimble Storage and HPE ProLiant servers and the SimpliVity HPC hyper-converged infrastructure. HPE will also provide an as a service infrastructure with HPE GreenLake, which provides customers with an HPE managed pay-per-use infrastructure that will allow applications to be run in a Google Kubernetes Engine environment.
