Garmin Forerunner 45, 245 and 945: the new smartwatches for sportsmen
Garmin renews its smartwatch range: Forerunner 45, Forerunner 245 and the new Forerunner 945 implement an increasing number of features for sports lovers.
Garmin renews the range of sportwatches of the Forerunner series by announcing 3 new models that represent the evolution of the range currently on the market. These are Forerunner 45, Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 945, models that take the place of Forerunner 35, Forerunner 235 and Forerunner 935 respectively.
These 3 models share some basic technical features, positioning themselves on different price levels depending on the advanced features that are integrated. In all of them, we find the multisatellite GPS detection system (GPS, Glonass and Galileo), the heartbeat detection sy stem on the wrist and the integration with the smartphone to receive notifications. The external shape is similar: circular case without touch functionality, with 5 side buttons that turn out to be much more comfortable than a touch interface for the sportsman during the activity.
The Forerunner 45 range consists of two models: Forerunner 45 and Forerunner 45S. They differ only in size, with a 42 mm case for the second against the 39 mm case of the first. There are the classic features related to the recording of sports activities with reference to running and cycling (in total there are 12 profiles for different sports), guaranteeing an autonomy of up to 13 hours with active GPS and up to 7 days using them as smartwatch.
Among the advanced integrated functions, we find stress monitoring, obtained by wearing the watch continuously and using heartbeat data, as well as recording Body Battery energy. This function provides an indication of the energy level in each hour of the day, depending on the rest done and the intensity of the activity done during the day. The recommended retail price is $199.
