Hasselblad 907X Special Edition: A tribute to the moon landing
On the threshold of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, the Swedish manufacturer presents the new limited-edition model Hasselblad 907X Special Edition. A dedication to the link between Hasselblad and space missions.
We have already written a few days ago about the choice of Hasselblad to remember his connection with the landing on the moon and space missions. But it is not just a leap in the past, in these hours the new Hasselblad 907X Special Edition was presented, specifically dedicated to those pioneering missions.
The Swedish manufacturer has thus unveiled this new model in a special edition for the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. The bundle consists of a Hasselblad 907X camera and a CFV II 50C digital back with matte black coloring and also includes the label with the words ” On the Moon Since 1969 ” (as you can see in the image above).
The astronauts, in the first Apollo missions on the Moon, had the modified Hasselblad camera attached to their chest with a Zeiss Biogon 60mm f/5.6 lens and a 70 mm magazine. There was also a second Hasselblad Electric Camera (HEC) black with a Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8 lens to record inside the Eagle module. Finally, a third black HEC model was employed by Michael Collins aboard the Columbia.
The Hasselblad 907X Special Edition will be available in a limited number of copies only for real enthusiasts or collectors. We recall that this is a mirrorless medium-format solution compatible with XCD lenses (but also with other attacks via adapters). Of course, autofocus support and electronic exposure control are not missing.
The Hasselblad 907X Special Edition CMOS sensor has a resolution of 50 MPixels with a dynamic range covering 14 stops capable of capturing 16-bit RAW photographs and full-resolution jpegs. The screen is 9″ with a resolution of 920 thousand points while the display is at 60 fps.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and USB Type-C, which can also charge the integrated battery. A double slot for SD UHS-II cards and Phocus Mobile 2 support could not be missing.
