How to quickly merge two avi video

The Program
Let’s start by downloading the necessary program to join the two segments of video: there is a great variety and in this guide, we propose the Machete Lite program, a free software. Download it with your trusted browser from the website at the bottom of the guide in the ” Useful links ” section, and after downloading the program, proceed with the installation wizard.
Click on the blue ” Download ” button, located just below the ” Free Machete Lite ” (the second). When the download is complete, launch the program with a double-click (it will appear with the word MacheteLiteInst38.Exe in the destination folder). Then click on ” Run ” and then on ” Next “.
The installation
Subsequently, you will have to accept the conditions of use of the program, putting the check mark next to the word ” I Agree ” (or I agree) and click first on ” Next ” for three consecutive times and then on ” Yes ” (to authorize the installation on Windows 7 and Windows Vista). To conclude the installation procedure, then press ” Close ” and launch the software.
On the Windows desktop, you will find the shortcut icon to the program: start it by clicking and, from the File menu, select ” Open “, to open the first part of the video you want to assemble; press the ” To the End ” button to make the time bar pointer scroll to the end of the first video segment.
Editing
Once this is done, you will need to enter the second segment, going to ” Edit ” and selecting the ” Insert a file at the current position ” option. You can repeat these two steps for all the video segments you want to add. It is good to remember that two AVI files can be assembled in the same movie, only and exclusively if they retain the same characteristics (size, audio format).
To save the progress you will have to simply click on ” Save as “, save the file save folder and give it a name. Saving the video should only take a few seconds, even if the timing may vary depending on the file size.
The Alternative
To make the combined AVI files fluid with each other, there is also another method. It is possible to add transitions between AVI clips. To do this, switch to the Transition tab and drag the desired transition to the AVI video that requires a transition.
For convenience, you can also right-click on a transition, and a menu will appear with the ” Apply to all ” and ” Random to all ” options to allow you to add the transition in seconds. Combine AVI files one by one. Now preview the merged AVI video and if you are satisfied with the result, click on the ” Create ” button to save multiple video clips in a single file.
On the Format tab, select any format from the list. All popular video formats are supported. Since you’re combining AVI files, the AVI format will be a better choice. If you want to play merged AVI files on iPod, iPhone, iPad, select ” Device ” and select the device thumbnail from the list. You can also directly upload the combined video to YouTube or burn to DVD discs to watch on TV.
