Apple iPhone 11: The technical features in detail
iPhone 11 is the less complex name among the models presented last night by Apple. This is the ” entry ” smartphone of the new product line and the one that replaces the iPhone XR wallet.
As has been happening for some time now, Apple wanted to ” cheer up ” the evening with the event dedicated to new products, including the iPhone 11 series. Many voices followed one another over the months, but we can still say one once the rumors were fairly accurate. But what are the technical characteristics of the new models of the iPhone 11 series? Here they are below.
Apple iPhone 11: The technical features
The entry model of the new series has a 6.1″ front diagonal screen made with an IPS panel (Retina HD). The resolution is 1,792 x 828 pixels with a pixel density of up to 326 PPI. The typical contrast is equal to 1,400:1 and a brightness of 625 nits, there is also support for True Tone and the DCI-P3 color range.
The dimensions of the iPhone 11 are equal to 5.94“ x .98″ x 0.33″ while the weight stops at 194 grams. The structure also provides IP68 certification to withstand water (2 meters deep for 30 minutes) and dust. The physical keys present are the ones you would expect in every iPhone with volume, ring tone, on / standby. At the bottom instead, there is the Lightning connector, no USB Type-C port.
The iPhone 11 processor is A13 Bionic with third-generation Neural Engine for AI management. As usual, Apple does not release information about the amount of RAM while the storage is 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
The cameras
In the back area, we find two cameras (first time on an entry model). The resolution is 12 MPixel with a wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle lens equivalent to 13 mm. The first has an aperture of f/1.8 with 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom (six lenses), the second has an aperture of f/2.4 and a viewing angle of 120° (five lenses).
There is no shortage of methods such as the advanced bokeh with opening control (digital) as well as the possibility of varying the lighting with natural effect, photographic set, contouring, theater, theater b/w, high key b/n). To improve the quality of the images, there is the optical image stabilization (OIS) for the wide-angle but not for the ultra-wide-angle.
iPhone 11 then has a True Tone Flash and allows you to create a 63 MPixel panoramic image. There is also a new-generation Smart HDR, Live Photos, red-eye correction, geotagging and acquisition in HEIF and JPEG formats.
As for the video part, you can record in 4K at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps or FHD at 30 fps or 60 fps and HD at 30 fps. Then there is support for the extended dynamic range up to 60 fps and OIS support for wide-angle as well as 2x zoom (3x digital). For moving subjects, there is automatic tracking. Do not miss the slow motion at 120 fps (FHD) or 240 fps (HD).
The front camera is always 12 MPixel resolution but with an aperture of f/2.2. For selfie lovers, there is the advanced bokeh effect with lighting control. Thanks to TrueDepth, Animoji and Memoji are supported to make conversations more playful. Video recording is 4K at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps or FHD at 30 fps or 60 fps and slow-motion FHD at 120 fps. For photographs, there is then Smart HDR and electronic image stabilization.
Connectivity
iPhone 11 connectivity is complete and includes support for the FDD-LTE mobile networks (bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 66), TD ‑ LTE (bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 48), UMTS / HSPA+ / DC ‑ HSDPA (850, 900, 1700 / 2100, 1900, 2100 MHz) and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz).
The part dedicated to LTE supports MIMO 2 × 2 and LAA and is considered dual SIM thanks to the nano-SIM and eSIM combination. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with MIMO 2 × 2 technology, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and GPS/GNSS is not missing.
The declared autonomy has been compared to that of the iPhone XR, according to the manufacturer, it is one hour higher. Video playback allows up to 17 hours, video streaming up to 10 hours, music playback up to 65 hours. Do not miss the quick charge that allows you to get to 50% in 30 minutes thanks to the 18W charger and there is also wireless charging.
Integrated sensors include Face ID, barometer, 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. Apple has chosen to produce the shells in different colors among which we find black, green, yellow, purple, (PRODUCT) RED and white.
