AirPods Pro: New design and active noise cancellation
The Cupertino-based company officialises the new AirPods Pro, the first headphones with active noise cancellation for an even more immersive sound. Here are all the details.
Apple officially presents the new AirPods Pro or the first headphones created in Cupertino with active noise suppression. They are added to the AirPods family allowing users to have an even higher level of music listening thanks to active noise cancellation but also to a new light and comfortable in-ear design, at least according to Apple.

AirPods Pro: With a tap no more noise
What changes in this Pro version compared to what has been seen to date with the AirPods? Many things that concern not only design, always in line with the past but improved to introduce functional innovations such as those of active noise suppression.
So here Apple decides to revolutionize the wireless audio experience with an innovative design that is always light and designed for maximum comfort and maximum adaptability.
In this case, each earphone is equipped with soft and flexible silicone pads in three different sizes that adapt to the profiles of each individual ear. Comfortable in this sense and above all, they do not slip from the ears allowing an especially engaging experience.
They also use an innovative ventilation system with pressure equalization, which minimizes the frequent discomfort in other in-ear designs. They are sweat and water resistant, making them perfect for everyday use.
Active noise cancellation is undoubtedly the most important aspect of the new AirPods Pro. Here are used two microphones combined with a software for a continuous adaptation to each ear and earphone.
In this way, the background noises are eliminated, the listening experience is even more personal and the listener does nothing but concentrate precisely on the contents from the musical ones to a telephone conversation.
On a technical level, the first microphone faces outwards and detects the external sound by analyzing the ambient noise. The AirPods Pro then produce an equivalent sound that cancels out background noise before it reaches the listener’s ear.
A second microphone facing inwards perceives the sounds transmitted towards the ear, and the AirPods Pro cancel the residual noise detected by the microphone. Noise cancellation continuously adjusts the audio signal 200 times per second.
The ” Transparency Mode ” is very interesting and offers the possibility to listen to your favorite songs without losing the sounds of the surrounding environment. Here in this case, it is possible to hear the sounds of traffic while running or the announcements at the station while waiting for the train.
Moreover, the Transparency mode ensures that the voice is natural even if you wear headphones and preserves a superior listening experience, according to Apple.
How can you switch to active noise cancellation? Nothing could be simpler as it can be done directly on AirPods Pro using a pressure sensor on the stem. The pressure sensor also allows you to play, pause or skip tracks with ease, and answer or hang up calls.
Users can also press the volume slider in the Control Center on the iPhone and iPad to control the settings, or on the Apple Watch by tapping the AirPlay icon while the music is playing.
AirPods Pro: Always high autonomy
AirPods Pro have the new H1 chip with 10 audio cores and capable of directing sound or activating Siri. The H1 extremely low audio processing latency allows you to cancel noise in real time, offer high-quality sound through adaptive technology and make requests to Siri without using your hands.
The AirPods Pro have the same autonomy as the AirPods, for five hours of uninterrupted listening. In active noise canceling mode, AirPods Pro offer up to four and a half hours of listening and up to three and a half hours of conversation on a single charge.
With some extra charging through the wireless charging case, you get over 24 hours of listening or more than 18 hours of talk time. In addition, the charging case is wireless and a Qi certified charging mat will be enough or use the Lightning port.
