I am an avid subscriber of Spotify premium even though you can now listen to his music for free, albeit with some limitations, to any portable device. When I’m at home listening to Spotify iPad connecting via Wi-Fi to the Apple TV. But when you are on vacation or do the short runs I like to continue to consume my subscription listening to the stream from my iPhone.
The speaker of the iPhone are not exactly the best solution for music listening such as when you are staying in a hotel room. It would take something more powerful and at the same time easy to carry, to be connected and maybe allow you to use your smartphone for other activities.
I tested the Anker Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker, and I think I’ve found just the right solution for me. Anker already use a lot of the external charger that has long been an integral part of my iPhone equipment, The speakers, I have tested it in a care package that includes, in addition to the speaker wirelessly, also a Micro USB cable for charging and a stereo mini jack cable to connect to useful device type MP141 that older iPod that do not have Bluetooth’s connection.
Anker Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker – PROS
- The finishes of the speaker, who present themselves as a quasi-cube 8 × 8 × 6 cm, are very accurate. The outer covering is the rubber that increases grip when you hold it in your hand; There is also a rubber coating on the base.
- The controls are kept to a minimum: the speaker has only three main buttons, two for volume and one for pause and restart the music. The protocol of Bluetooth fact allows the device that acts as a source to accept commands given by its speaker. The pause button and restart is also very helpful to answer incoming calls: the MP141 is also equipped with a microphone, and can act as an extension speaker for any smartphone with a Bluetooth connection.
- The identification and connection with the source device is very fast; Bluetooth will still be about 4.0 but continuing the comparison with Apple TV and free Wi-Fi. I verified that the latency from the moment you turn on the speaker previously locked to a device, are virtually nil. The speaker connects to one device at a time; that’s why the connection is no PIN code; to change the source device just before disconnecting the speaker settings by acting on the device itself or just press and hold the volume buttons on the speaker.
Anker Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker – CONS
- The sound is so powerful, but since it is emitted from a single speaker is a single channel (not stereo); also the bass are a bit forced due to the small size of the speaker. Anker Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker is still a good choice because of the needs that I listed at the top of the post.
