Apple is working not only to version 8 of Safari for the future OS X 10.10 Yosemite but also to version 7.1 for OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Significant improvements in Engine JavaScript and beyond. Among the innovations of the future OS X 10:10 Yosemite, there is also Safari 8 which has an interface in many ways more similar to the iPad version of iOS. Apple is meanwhile working on a release date of 6 Safari for OS X 10.8.x Mountain Lion Safari and 7 for OS X 10.9.x Mavericks.
Both of the latter versions are currently in beta, will integrate some features that we see in Safari 8 to Yosemite and a faster JavaScript engine.
The test with the SunSpider benchmark on a machine running OS X 10.9.4 has been completed in 148ms on Safari 7.1 versus 170 ms previously requested with Safari 7.05, better than is currently possible with Safari 8 of Yosemite (on OS X 10:10 Apple has not yet eliminated the redundant code used for debugging purposes).
Also improves support for HTML5, but not yet to the level of what was possible with Safari 8. HTML5test site with Safari 7.1 shows a score of 405 out of 555, ten points higher than the version 7.05 but less than twenty-four at the same test performed with Version 8. using the beta of OS X 10.9.5 Safari shows a score of 423 out of 555.
Safari also makes progress in the management of 2D graphics, the routine storage and security. In the same, tests Chrome 36 reaches a score of 509 and Firefox 30 to get 467. Authors of these tests penalize Safari for failing to support the WebM standard developed by Google as Safari 8, versions 6.2 and 7.1 of Safari activated by default set to support WebGL and support the IndexedDB API for client-side storage of considerable amounts of structured data, features that enhance performance management data using indexes.
