Monitoring of doors, motion sensors, smoke detectors, keychain tracers and even sensors for pipes: at CES 2015, WeMo shows a range of accessories for home automation all interfaced with each other.
WEMo, the division of Belkin engaged in the development and implementation of tools dedicated to the simplification of home, unveiled at CES in Las Vegas a new series of sensors able to make more ” intelligent ” and connected to our house and to monitor remotely some parameters.
In all, five new sensors presented at the exhibition of consumer electronics: a motion detector, a carbon monoxide detector, a sensor for doors and windows, a keychain with a locator and a special device for water efficiency.
All sensors are obviously interfaced with tablets and smartphones, and are able to work in concert with one another to offer a deep monitoring of the state of the house that you can see even remotely thanks to WiFi connectivity present in all sensors WeMo.
The most interesting among the sensors is presented WeMo Water Sensor, which can be connected to any water pipe to control any faults of the hydraulic system, detecting pressure changes or vibrations.
The sensor can also show how many times has been operated any faucet connected to the pipe, then calculating consumption. In case there is a loss the sensor will immediately send a notification to the connected device, allowing it to take action as soon as possible.
In addition to the Motion Sensor (with a radius of about 10 meters and a field of 90 degrees) and to the device Door / Window Sensor, of particular interest is also Alarm Sensor, which allows to detect noise, smoke emissions, carbon dioxide and send notifications to the user as well as automatic calls to a predefined list of contacts.
The possibility to operate in concert, intrinsic characteristic of all the devices WeMo, also allows to enable a series of automations the occurrence of particular events, such as the automatic lights (governed by WeMo Light Switch) to take certain alarms.
WEMo Water Sensor is currently still under development and will be available near the end of the year, while Door / Window Sensor, Motion Sensor, Alarm Sensor and Personal Keyfob Sensor will be available during the second half of the year, to a price that will be provided shortly before the market launch.
