NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960: the debut is coming
Once reduced wait before seeing the market the new GeForce GTX 960, based on the proposed architecture and Maxwell combined with GPU indicated by the name of GM206. The debut of the video cards GeForce GTX 960 NVIDIA is getting closer, according to rumors that emerge these days. The American company has not chosen the frame of the CES 2015 in Las Vegas to present these proposed medium-high, preferring to focus attention on the new chip Tegra X1 destined to mobile systems.
The latest rumors about the GeForce GTX 960, published by the website Videocardz to this address, report the use of GPU GM206 in combination with the configuration of video memory with 128-bit bus width. An image of these chips, screen printed as GM206-300-A1, has appeared online: the overall dimensions are well smaller than those of the chip GM204 which at the moment is being mounted on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970.
Lack of information on the technical characteristics of this GPU is conceivable but could find the place in 1024 or 1280 CUDA cores within itself. We can assume a level of speed performance close to that of the GeForce GTX 760, with the bus from 128bit amplitude that will be supported by the improved efficiency of the memory controller implemented in GPU architecture with Maxwell that we have got to check with the GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970.
For the launch of this card, the time is almost ready; the rest with an increasing number of rumors that emerge online cannot miss much the actual launch on the market. Presumably so that by the end of January also this card is on the shelf, waiting for the answer from AMD with the new generation of Radeon video cards.
