Acer has announced the flagship of the family, featuring a 12.5-inch display 4K and the presence of Windows 10 as a native installation. There is also a USB Type-C and a host of connectivity options.
Acer Aspire Switch 12S is the flagship of the family of laptop 2-in-1. Announced today at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, the device is characterized by a capacity premium anodized aluminum and some technology interconnection between module and keyboard. Inside the chassis are an Intel Core M sixth-generation and advanced technology to the Wi-Fi antenna.
The display of Acer Aspire Switch 12S is a 12.5-inch 4K LCD IPS. It supports a maximum resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels and thanks for the use of certain production technologies as Zero Air Gap and glass Gorilla Glass 4, is very thin while maintaining a good level of quality.
The tablet form is often only 7.85 mm and weighs 800 grams, numbers that increase significantly by connecting the keyboard module becoming 17.3 mm for the thickness and 1.4 kg to weight.
Under the chassis, Acer has implemented a proprietary technology for the antenna called ExoAmp, which guarantees the ” maximum performance ” without affecting the design of the device, while the zipper Snap Hinge Gold allows you to magnetically attach the tablet to the docking providing a connection speed of up to 6 Gbps to take advantage of all the speed of USB 3.0 devices connected. The module also uses keyboard connectors zinc alloy to make the recharging.
The laptop 2-in-1 is equipped with a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 that can be used for charging or for the connection of video devices (up to 4K), storage or other types. Through standard Thunderbolt 3, Aspire Switch 12S is also compatible with a graphics Acer Dock, optionally provided, which allows to increase performance in the graphic of the entire system. Between ports we are also two USB 3.0, a microHDMI, a microSD card reader and a combo jack for headphones and external microphone.
The handset also incorporates a camera Intel RealSense R200, an HD webcam, three microphones and two front speakers placed at the front of the device. It will be sold in various configurations, with 4 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage, in all cases of units of solid-state storage.
Acer Aspire Switch 12S will be available from February 2016.
