Acer TravelMate P455-M with Haswell – Review
The new Acer TravelMate P455 come in different configurations, including our test Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i3-4010U (Haswell) to 1.7 Gbytes with HD4400 integrated graphics, 4 GB of RAM and storage is essential with its 320 Gbytes of traditional magnetic disk.
It should be noted immediately the survival of an optical reader, this is a DVD-Super Multi DL Drive (8X Double Layer). The fund provides support WiFi connectivity technology with Acer Nplify 802.11 a / b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0 support.
Acer TravelMate P455 – Description
It is a notebook with 15.6-inch display that makes sobriety his own strength. The shell of the chassis top, dark, metal knurl, shows reliable, although perhaps too flexible. Ergonomic solutions, for this solution, are maintained as part of an entirely classical notebook for work.

The display is particularly bright, but this small limitation, completely irrelevant in the office benefits from the battery, which supports the use of more than 4 hours actually. It is a 4-cell battery with 2500 mAh, the minimum.
Even in a cost-effective solution such as this Acer has been well thought of integrating a backlit keyboard on a shelf in the complex more than comfortable, with a large touchpad decentralized, sensitive as it serves, with an excellent feedback without the need to carry out ad hoc configurations, and a fingerprint reader for the right level of security in the field of work. On the upper frame of the WebCam (1,280 × 720).
Those on business can be immediately comfortable with the integration directly on the desktop the first launch, Acer Device Fast-Lane and Acer Power Button, simple software solutions to get instant access to the various options on and off that Windows 8 has first almost hidden, and then brought out (partially) with the update.
Windows 8.1 is not yet listed on the model tested. Some thought is needed regarding the portability: Acer TravelMate P455 weighs about 2.4 Kg. There are just a few if the workforce has to use it frequently on the move.
Regarding the interfaces, it goes in part to savings. Acer TravelMate P455 has a single USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports, so with the old standard. Even in a cost-effective solution this could be a detractor to the shelf and the canal. On the left profile so there are in succession: VGA port, Ethernet connector, HDMI plug, and the only USB 3.0 combined with a single Mini-Jack socket for headphones and microphone.
On the front, profile found space in the left corner of the reader Memory Cards and traditional with LED status indicators. The right profile is largely occupied by the DVD burner, the two USB 2.0 sockets and connector for power.
The latest proposals with new form factors and touch screen display and the overall SSD, have raised the price of input devices to work. This laptop, away from the traditional, is no exception.
Certainly, from the point of view of performance imposes certain restrictions, not so much with regard to simple office work, but it certainly does not prove to be an all-purpose laptop also voted to the game and fun, or use of demanding applications, such as processing software and 3D graphics modeling or design.
