Acer TravelMate X514-51: Full HD 14 inches, 10 hours of battery life
TravelMate X514-51 is the new ultraportable from Acer, which aims to professionals looking for a powerful and light machine. Interesting both the size and the weight, which is less than a kilogram, in addition of course to the excellent hardware equipment. Let’s see it in detail.
Acer presents the ultra-portable TravelMate X514-51, an elegant and lightweight laptop designed for the professional on the move, but obviously without foreclosing its use for others such as students or those who still live in continuous mobility.
The weight is only 980 grams, obtained thanks to a body made of magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys, but without resorting to a chassis that is too small.
The display is not compromise, with reduced diagonals: the Acer TravelMate X514-51 adopts a 14-inch full HD 1,920×1,080 pixel resolution, all with thin 9.2mm frames. The Acer BlueLightShield technology also allows you to adjust the emission of blue light, thus confirming particular attention to visual well-being during long stays in front of the screen.
The thickness when closed is only 14.99 mm, which does not imply a waiver in terms of hardware adopted: under the thin shell find CPU space that in the top version are represented by Intel Core i7 eighth generation, which is accompanied by a memory allocation up to 16GB. The top of the range version also uses dual 512 GB SSD.
Certified Skype for Business, the Aecr TravelMate X514-51 promises quality audio and video in optical video conferencing, thanks also to the HD 720p webcam with Acer Purified Voice technology. Two loudspeakers and two wide-range microphones, which attenuate the noise of the keyboard and support vocal tracking, do nothing but wink at business users.
The connection ports are two USB 3, HDMI and also a USB Type-C, which allows you to connect to the optional dock that can further extend the connection options (even up to 3 4K monitors simultaneously). Of course, Wi-Fi MU-MIMO 2×2802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 are not missing.
An eye also on safety, as in many devices designed for companies: the fingerprint reader is integrated into the power button (works with Windows Hello), while the presence of a TPM chip (Trusted Platform Module ) 2.0 for hardware encryption. To mention is also a rare gift for this type of laptop; to access the SSD, the battery, the heat sink and the WiFi card simply remove 11 screws on the bottom side of the chassis.
Acer TravelMate X514-51 is available with prices starting from $999. The warranty is valid in over 30 countries where Acer authorized repair centers are present. The TravelMate X5 is also part of the Acer Reliability Promise Program which provides for a 100% refund on the purchase price, if the Acer product fails and is repaired under warranty within the first year.
