Amazon challenges Apple: coming true wireless earphones with Alexa
According to rumors from apparently reliable sources, Amazon is thinking of entering the true wireless earpiece market.
Amazon is entering the true wireless headset market, challenging industry giants like Apple, Samsung and Huawei. It is reported by Bloomberg, who cites ” people with knowledge of the plans ” of the company, specifying that there will be two points of differentiation with respect to the many products already on the market. One of these will be support for Alexa.
As we have already seen with Google, Samsung and Apple, Amazon’s goal is to create a product that works in synergy with its virtual assistant. The earphones, according to the sources, can be managed via controls via gesture and by voice, with the possibility of activating the virtual assistance simply by saying the word Alexa.
The earphones will have the possibility to exploit the functions of the virtual assistant, even if they are not connected to a smartphone, differently from what happens with some models compatible with Alexa currently on the market. This possibility is interesting in view of the possibilities offered by the function, considering the entire Amazon ecosystem.

For example, the user could not only manage the headsets with the voice, but also the gadgets of the smart home compatible with the ecosystem and even order products on Amazon just as is already the case with the smart speakers of the Bezos company. All this, in parallel with the possibility of formulating almost any question, including weather, news, sports results and curiosity.
The second differentiation with respect to the competitors in the sector will be relative to the audio quality: not too many details have been offered, but only that the audio of the Amazon earphones will be higher than that of the Apple AirPods.
Amazon will also try to lower the public price of the new product as much as possible, in order to make it more attractive within a market that is new, but already full of proposals and rather crowded. Samsung recently announced the new Galaxy Buds, while Huawei introduced its FreeBuds Lite.
However, Amazon does not want to face this possibility lightly and, after some positive forays into the hardware market, has given priority to the new earphone project, calling it important with the ultimate goal of bringing Alexa out of loyal user’s homes.
