The two operating systems for laptops and smartphones to become a single thing in just over a year. The first demonstration of the merger will be given at the Google I/O 2016.
Google is planning the unification of Chrome OS and Android within a single operating system. This was revealed by the Wall Street Journal, which explains that Big G wants to build on the success of the green robot platform to gnaw ground also in laptops and desktops. This means that in the near future ,we may see systems with fixed laptop or android, modified so as to offer a user experience more in line with the characteristics of these devices.
Chromebooks currently represent a good cheap solution for productivity and have had commercial success overseas. Nevertheless, the idea of “eliminating ” integrating it into the Chrome OS Android brand makes sense if we consider the last steps to the top in Google. Sundar Pichai it is now the CEO and two years ago was the head of the team Chrome and Android. Since then he is trying to bring the two operating systems, with the operation of unification in this light that appears natural.
One of the steps already made is to support Android applications on Chrome OS. At the moment, this is a limited compatibility, but in the near future the two operating systems might be able to run the same applications (a bit ‘as the universal app for Windows). In this spirit, the Chromebook could access millions of content already available on Google Play Store, and beyond.
In fact, developers are much more prone to design applications on the most popular Android and fusion that could consequently, contribute to the success of the Chromebook, which receive substantially the same future applications with the same refresh rate. The new operating system could be announced in the first half of 2016, probably at the Google I/O, with the debut commercial that will not come before 2017.
