Asus MG278Q comes with all the features that can be useful to a gamer, including technology that deals with the calibration of the refresh rate.
Asus has just announced Model MG278Q, a monitor designed to meet the needs of the most enthusiastic players. It is a widescreen display-quad-high-definition (WQHD) to 27 inches with a response time of only one millisecond.
The refresh rate is typical of the monitors for gamers or 144 Hz, while the technology FreeSync ensure a fluid gameplay without tearing and stuttering. Asus MG278Q is ergonomically designed and offers technologies Ultra-Low Light Blue and Flicker-Free, which serve to protect users eyes during extended gaming sessions.
The proprietary technology by Asus, GamePlus also displays a crosshair in the center of the game screen, and manages the timer function and a count of the frames per second. Players have access to four types of crosshairs to choose from, while the timer function briefs them on the duration of the game session. In this case, a clock appears on the left side of the screen that starts when the start of the session.
The other technology owned by Asus, GameVisual, instead, provides six preset display modes (Scenery, Racing, Movies, RTS / RPG, FPS and sRGB), in order to offer the best possible color depending on the type of game or entertainment experience. This feature can be managed through a hotkey or via the OSD menu.
The pixel density of 109 PPI for a resolution WQHD equal to 2,560 x 1,440, which offers a display area of greater than 77% compared to the one offered by a canon 1080p display. The response time of 1ms in the transition from gray to gray guarantee the removal of burrs and reduce ghosting and motion blur. It is a panel of the TN type with a viewing angle equal to 170° / 160° and maximum luminance of 350 nits.
Asus Ultra-Low Light Blue also reduces the emission of blue light up to 70% and allows you to manage the filter for blue light through four different settings available on the OSD. Asus has also thought to contain as much as possible the frame to make MG278Q also suitable for multi-monitor configurations.
Players can find their favorite viewing position with the ability to tilt and rotate the base, as well as adjust the monitor height. Asus MG278Q can be easily detached from the base thanks to a quick-release device and can be mounted on the support thanks to the VESA standard.
The new solution from Asus is equipped with a dual-link DVI port, two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort 1.2. The latter, along with the HDMI-1, provides output WQHD native, while two USB 3.0 ports provide fast charging for USB devices and can be used as a free alternative to a secondary display.
Asus MG278Q will be available by the end of August. It was not yet announced the price list.
