Asus RoG G501: Intel Core i7 and GeForce GTX 960m with aluminum body by 2cm

Asus RoG G501 :Designed especially for gamers, the new laptops series Republic of Gamers integrates hardware first-rate within a chassis extremely elegant, 2 kg in weight and just 2 cm thick. Until a few years ago, laptops for gaming boasted unlikely form factors and weight specifications and dimensions simply unmanageable.

They were often called ” desktop replacement “, but they could not match the performance of traditional desktops, nor be transportable like a laptops. Today the situation has changed, with many products that combine design features top-notch hardware components in all respect.

Hardware that is a still first choice: The CPU is an Intel Core i7-4720HQ fourth generation, supported by up to a maximum of 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and of course a discrete GPU, specifically by a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960m of direct evolution the GTX 860 M. We have not been able to test the new model of the GPU of Santa Clara, but we doubt that it can be able to effectively manage stocks last generation to the native resolution of the panel of Asus RoG G501.

The rest of the park hardware does not disappoint. The fund storage, especially, is very interesting thanks to a unit of M.2 slot PCIe x4 of 512 GB (most extreme option) that can reach, according to data released by the Taiwanese, transfer rate up to a maximum of 1,400MB/s. On the connectivity we find three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, headphone and microphone ports, a memory card reader and also a Thunderbolt port.

But as we said before, the distinguishing feature of the new Republic of Gamers is its design: the body is finished with an elegant brushed aluminum, while the keyboard is backlit with red LEDs. Asus managed to include all the hardware approach described in a chassis with a thickness of 20.6 mm and a weight of 2.06 kg, which incorporates an internal battery 96 Wh (in the variant with drive state storage solid).

Asus RoG G501 is very interesting in relation to the price, no doubt very high but in line with other products in the same category. PCWorld points out that in the American market version with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD will be offered at around $ 2,000, a figure with which the new Asus RoG G501 want to configure one of the best solutions designed primarily for the niche of hardcore gamers.
