Bluetooth 4.1 – All the features of the new standard
Have been officially announced new features that will be introduced in Bluetooth 4.1 wireless communication standard. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has explained, via press release, all the improvements that will be introduced in the new version of the technology for short-range wireless transmission. In particular, the Bluetooth 4.1 improves the connection and the speed of data transfer and allows you to save even more energy.
Much attention has been paid to improve coexistence with LTE technology, more and more present on smartphones and tablets. It has worked to reduce interference between LTE and Bluetooth, which was made possible by operating a coordination of the two communication systems.
- Improved connection between devices. Greater control over the creation and maintenance of a connection between two devices. Suppose that two terminals connected via Bluetooth are in the same room, we go with one of these in another room, resulting in an interruption of the connection. The moment will be back in the room where the two devices were connected, thanks to the Bluetooth 4.1, the reconnection will occur automatically between the two, without the need to intervene.
- Improvements in data transfer. All information collected by the sensors during a particular activity (either a run, a bike ride or a swim) will then be passed to a second device automatically and efficiently, when the user returns home.
- With Bluetooth 4.1 you can be connected to multiple devices at the same time, that they may operate either as a hub or as peripherals.

The organization of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) advises producers to adapt to the new standard as soon as possible 4.1.
