Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700: New headphones with noise reduction
Bose has announced the new flagship headphones of its line-up with active noise cancellation. Top technical equipment, support for the latest technology and price – obviously – mind-boggling.
Important news in the field of noise-canceling headphones, given that Bose – one of the leading brands – has announced a new flagship model. The new headphones does not replace the QuietComfort 35 II, but are positioned one step higher in the American manufacturer’s line-up. On the US market the new Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are offered for $399, a factor that demonstrates how Bose wants to go further than the QC 35 II in terms of features, quality, increasing the maximum price of its offer.
The most evident novelty, at least at first sight, of the new Bose NCH 700 is relative to the design, totally revolutionized compared to that of the QC 35, which has become iconic over time for the brand.
The new model relies on a USB Type-C port for recharging the battery that – official data in hand – should offer an autonomy of 20 hours of music playback with all the active features. Among these, we have native support for voice assistants and, according to the company, you can ” stay connected to your smartphone without looking at it or touching it “.
The new Bose headphones support the Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri, and adopt a system of microphones defined by the company as the best in the world ever implemented on a pair of headphones.
Specifically, we find four microphones, useful not only to converse with digital and biological interlocutors, but also and above all to offer a quality noise cancellation technology both in listening and recording: the company has declared the support of 11 different settings for regarding the intensity of the attenuation.
Bose has used both active and passive noise cancellation technologies: the microphones are positioned both inside and outside the pavilions, and are supported by an electronics that picks up sounds from the environment, measures and compares them, and then reacts accordingly in real time to produce the opposite signal so as to delete each track in the music being played. Regarding passive noise cancellation, the company has created cushions with specific shapes and materials to obtain the best results.
Very interesting is the introduction of a control and music management system (and calls) based on touch: the control pad is present on the outside of the right pavilion, while to launch the default virtual assistant on the paired smartphone it is possible to press the button at the bottom of the same pavilion.
The Bose NCH 700 can be connected to a maximum of two devices simultaneously and support the Bose AR platform, available to date only on iPhone and iPad but coming to Android.
It is an instrument of augmented reality via audio: according to Bose, it is possible to observe what we have around us and the headphones are able to tell us, provided we use compatible apps, context-related information. Among the examples made by Bose are those related to satellite navigation, with headphones that will give directions based on what we have around us (for example: ” Al McDonald’s turns right ” ).
The Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are already available for a pre-order in the United States and should arrive on the market very soon, even in Italy. They were announced together with the Bose Earbuds 500 (which will replace the SoundSport Free), which will arrive by the end of 2019, while in 2020 the Noise Canceling Earbuds 700 will be launched, with active noise canceling technology combined with the true wireless form factor.
