Canon XF705 and XF-HEVC codec: 4K 60p 10bit camera directly on SD

News in the field of professional video cameras by Canon, which presents the new XF705. Thanks to the new XF-HEVC format, this model allows to make 4K UHD / 50P recordings with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling directly on SD cards (two slots).
The sensor is a one-inch Pixel CMOS AF Dual Pixel assisted by a dual DIGIC DV6 processor, which allows to record internally HDR files using the HDR Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and Perceptual Quantization (PQ) curves.
In addition, it has numerous HDR support features to help you control your exposure. XF705 also allows simultaneous HDR/SDR production: it is able to output an SDR signal while internally recording an HDR file on an SD card.
Being equipped with an advanced 12G-SDI interface, it can also send a high quality uncompressed UHD/50P signal via a single SDI cable, thus transmitting an HDR signal in 4K UHD in the HEVC format. Designed for applications such as broadcast broadcasts and video production, the XF705 meets the requirements of users who want to make HDR videos in 4K UHD with optimized workflows.
Great attention also to the functionality of focusing: in addition to the improved touch functionality, face detection and tracking of the subject, we also find the Focus Guide, which instead allows to achieve an accurate focus in case of manual adjustment.
The L series lens features a 15x zoom, a maximum f/2.8 aperture, a 25.5mm wide-angle lens and obviously optical image stabilization. Equivalent focal lengths in full format range from 25.5mm to 382.5mm.
Finally, the three independent control dials ensure that the camera always has the ideal manual control level for professional use.
