Cooler Master MasterCase H500M: With tempered glass

The new Cooler Master Case combines four tempered glass panels, the possibility of replacing the front one with a mesh grid for maximum performance and two huge 200mm fans. The price is not really popular.

Cooler Master MasterCase H500M

Cooler Master has just announced a new high-end case for the most exigent users, featuring advanced features and sophisticated designs thanks to the use of quality materials and components.

The new MasterCase H500M uses four tempered glass panels and two large 200mm fans with RGB LEDs along the front, all combined with an almost maniacal attention to detail. The case has been announced in the past few hours and we have had the opportunity to touch it for a while in the editorial office.

MasterCase H500MVery interesting is the choice to offer two-front panels: one in tempered glass for those who prefer design to the real features, the other with a ” mesh ” grid that optimizes the flow of air and is designed for those who want the maximum thermal dissipation performance for internal components.

The user can choose aesthetics or performance, but in any case, the huge frontal fans offered in the package will be at the center of the scene thanks to the customizable RGB LED. The choice of two large frontal fans allows a huge flow of air, keeping the rotation speed of the moving parts low and obtaining an excellent air recirculation while limiting the noise of the operating system.

Cooler Master MasterCase H500M also integrates a very complete I/O panel, with as many as five USB ports, all 3.0 with the exception of USB 3.1 port with a reversible Type-C connector. The ARGB controller included in the control panel (the various options must be applied via the reset button) allows the lighting of the fans to be managed, with the aesthetic solutions that allow a great cleaning in the assembly of the components to be obtained without too much trouble.

Among these, for example, the nine removable covers that hide from view the most anti-aesthetic elements: one of these hides the power supply, another behind the discs and cables for the parts in theory less visible.

The covers cover the back of the motherboard, and then the two separate covers are designed for the power supply, two other covers for storage units. The cover for the radiator can be removed, and then there are two covers for cables, and for other storage units, and finally there is the cover for the 200 mm radiator.

MasterCase H500MAt the limit, unscrewed very few screws with interlocking solutions. For example, you can find the ARGB Controller, which integrates to SATA port for power, 2pin for control, 1 ARGB input, 1 micro-USB for firmware upgrade and two ARGB outputs.

The cover the back of the motherboard, near the CPU, and then we have two separate covers are designed for the power supply, two other covers for storage units. The cover for the radiator can be removed, and then behind there are two covers for cables, and for other storage units, and finally there is the cover for the 200 mm radiator.

MasterCase H500MThe covers can be removed without tools or, at most, unscrewing very few screws with interlocking solutions probably very durable over time thanks to the excellent materials used. Hidden in one of them; we find the controller ARGB, for the management of the fans, which integrates a SATA port for the power supply, a 2pin for the control, 1 input ARGB, 1 micro-USB for the firmware update and two outputs ARGB.

This is because MasterCase H500M has tempered glass panels on both sides, a rather atypical solution where usually only one side of the case is shown, the one that offers the integrated electronic components to the eye. With the new Cooler Master case, we have instead of an exaggerated use of tempered glass: above, on both sides and also on the front.

MasterCase H500MAesthetics is a fundamental component of this product, and this is why it is possible to install the video card even in a vertical position. There is also an adjustable arm to hold the video card in place without stressing the PCI-Express slot with its weight.

In a house of this market range, the arrangement for radiators for liquid cooling systems cannot be lacking: on the front side, it is possible to install 120/240/360 mm systems, or even 200 mm single fan systems, while in the top another 360 mm radiator or 200 mm fans.

At the rear, there is a pre-installed 140mm fan, along with the provision for a smaller 120mm model. In short, the case is presented with great glance thanks to two large 200 mm fans, both with the front cover ” mesh ” that with the tempered glass.

The materials are excellent and the cabling concealment solutions are extremely successful, with a very high quality for the details also for other solutions of the same price range. Some perplexities regarding the quality of the plastic front cover, for a product that, exudes robustness from any angle you look at, even those that usually remain more hidden. We find only one removable dust-proof filter, at the bottom, with maintenance, which should be facilitated by the use of many mesh grids along all the parts of the case.

We appreciated the opening mechanism of the side panels, even if not very intuitive in the first approach with the case: enough a coin to unlock a single screw and remove the panel, very convenient system also for lightning maintenance that takes a few seconds.

Cooler Master MasterCase H500M is one of the best houses for new models with the extensive use of tempered glass, already integrating some very interesting solutions as standard (for example: example the possibility of installing video cards vertically).

It does not cost a little and the company makes the choice to offer a solution with very few compromises, also taken care of aesthetically: with a list of $199 does not want to be a popular choice, but a solution designed for the very demanding user who wants to have everything is immediately so as to assemble in a short time a distinctive system with a certain aesthetic impact.
