Cooler Master SL600M: Modular case with sanded aluminum finishes
The MasterCase family also expands in Italy with the new Cooler Master MasterCase SL600M, which is characterized by a sanded aluminum coating and a list price of $199.
Cooler Master MasterCase SL600M wants to combine the characteristics of a case for enthusiast users with an aesthetic that is at once sober and refined. The new case of the ” modular ” family of the Taiwanese manufacturer is the first of the SL series, which are the initials of Sleek.
Cooler Master MasterCase SL600M is characterized by a professional design combined with gaming performance, for a product that is immediately configured as much more mature than the standard gaming case filled with LED.
The case is also designed to guarantee the best performance in the dissipation of the integrated components with the minimum noise level in operation. The new case can be inserted in a professional environment, while at the same time integrating high-end components that require a particular effort in the disposal of the produced heat. To deal with this aspect, we find two integrated fans with a diameter of 200mm, which suck the air from the bottom.
This particular type of operation is defined by the manufacturer as a ” vertical chimney ” effect, and facilitates the movement of the hot air from the bottom upwards to escape from the upper part of the cabinet. The two 200 mm fans can also move a larger volume of air than smaller solutions, all at a lower rotational speed. The fan speed can also be managed via the integrated I/O panel.
Here we also find a Type-C 3.1 Gen. 2 USB port, four full-size USB ports, 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone, and two additional 3.5mm headphone and separate microphone jacks. The panel also implements a proximity sensor, which activates the integrated lighting for a few seconds only when needed. The design of the Cooler Master MasterCase SL600M is not only the result of an aesthetic work, but also has different functionalities to improve the internal temperature.
For example: the airflow is not obstructed by the power supply, and the panels have very small holes to prevent heat recirculation, guiding the flow of hot air through the frame and towards the top. Component fans, such as the graphics card or CPU, are based on thermal feedback to control their rotation speed. Working in synergy, the components reduce the RPM of the integrated fans and also the whole system noise.
