Acer updates its Aspire notebook thin family by integrating the Core of the fifth generation of the family Broadwell, plus WiFi much faster. Convertible notebook Aspire R13 and ultrabook Aspire S7: These series of Acer products will be upgraded to the new Intel Core fifth generation architecture-based Broadwell.
The Taiwanese company has announced this news to coincide with the CES 2014 in Las Vegas, an event which will open officially in the day Tuesday, January 6, but that as of tomorrow will include some pre-show press conferences.
The new version of Aspire S7 does not implement external changes over the previous generation based on family processors Haswell. We find then display IPS type with variable resolution from 1,920 x 1,080 pixels until 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, storage with SSD in Raid 0 (128 or 256 Gbytes) and system memory of 8 Gbytes.
Alongside the new CPU Broadwell new versions of notebooks will also adopt 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard 802.11n instead of the previously adopted: this will allow for an increase of the speed of data transmission up to 3 times as well as a signal coverage more widespread.
Aspire R13 uses a design with tilting the display, thanks to the hinge’s Acer Ezel Aero, able to rotate 180 degrees so that it can be used in different modes. It can get up to 5 different modes of use: Notebook, Ezel, Stand, Hall, Tent Display.
The screen is available in the bundle with full HD resolution as with that WQHD from 2.560×1.440 pixels, both obviously equipped with touch functionality and protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The new versions of Aspire R13 and Aspire S7 will be available on the market during the month of January in the European markets; for the first prices start from $999 for Aspire S7 while the starting price is $1,199. On the technical features of the Intel Core fifth generation information is missing at the moment, but we will not have to wait long before the official announcement of Intel.
