CorelDRAW finally arrives also on Mac and also adds the web app
The great news related to the launch of the CorelDRAW graphics suite 2019 is the presentation of the version for Mac systems. Not only that, now also comes the CorelDRAW.app web app, usable by browsers.
” For years, it was the question that you have heard more often ” – said Giovanni Ragusa, Corel Sales Director – “ When does the Mac version arrive? Here, today the big day has arrived “. Indeed the great news related to the launch of the CorelDRAW graphics suite 2019 is the presentation of the version for MacOS systems. ” It is not a simple port, but we created it starting from scratch, working with Apple to get an interface that was perfectly consistent with the Mac environment. ”
A small detail, but that denotes the attention placed in the project: choosing the dark theme for the operating system, introduced with macOS Mojave, the Corel suite also adapts accordingly. A nice difference compared to the experience that was possible on the Mac using the Windows version through Parallels.
Moreover, Parallels is one of the acquisitions made by Corel in recent years, together with Pinnacle, WinZip, Roxio. The use of the MacBook is also full of support for the Touch Bar, with contextualization depending on the selected menu.
Supporting the creativity of graphic designers and designers is the mission that Corel has given itself with its suites and there are several interesting innovations in the new version of CorelDRAW.
The suite is designed for a wide range of audiences and includes several tools, including Corel PHOTO-PAINT, for photo editing, Corel Font Manager, for indexing and organizing character libraries, even those not installed but present on the computer and AfterShot 3 HDR, for processing RAW files, with a module for merging multiple shots at different exposures.
Among the tools designed to make life easier for graphic designers, we also find LiveSketch: it is a vector graphic design tool with a neural network at the base to intelligently interpret the lines drawn by hand with the graphic pen.
The sketches are then adjusted and combined with the existing vector curves, simplifying the task of sketching and drawing complex vector shapes on any device enabled to use a graphic pen.
Also very useful is the PowerTrace tool that converts bitmap objects (for example: example low-resolution scanning of a logo) into vector objects, scalable at will.
Interesting then the import of the model with non-destructive effects, typical of photo editing and used in Photo-Paint, also in Corel Draw, also in this case simplifying the management of complex designs, with the possibility of making a quick copy / paste effects between different graphic objects and with the possibility of creating styles by combining multiple effects.
Among the most-recent acquisitions of Corel, we also find Gravit. This incorporation has allowed Corel to also acquire the assets of an online vector drawing engine. From this, acquisition comes the other great novelty of the suite 2019: CorelDRAW.app
Compared to competitors, Corel wants to give its customers more flexibility when it comes to purchasing options. We find both ways:
- Perpetual license : a payment in one solution for a permanent license, without extra monthly or annual costs.
- Subscription license : with a lower annual cost and with the possibility of canceling the subscription when their software needs change. Access to the latest version is obtained for the duration of the subscription.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019 for Windows and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019 for Mac are available in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Japanese.
The full version of each suite is available at the recommended retail price of $699. The subscription has a cost of $198 per year. Prices include VAT. Access to CorelDRAW.app is included with the purchase of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019.
