Dell launches the new Inspiron 17 5000 with APU AMD Ryzen
Dell has launched the new Inspiron 17 5000, the first of its range to be equipped with AMD Ryzen Raven Ridge processors with integrated Radeon Vega graphics.
AMD Ryzen Raven Ridge processors have found a new home in the new Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptops. The American company has launched – without particular announcements – the new generation of 17-inch laptops in the US, equipping them with APU Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5.
The new Inspiron 17 5000 do not undergo big variations in terms of aesthetics, but they change inside. The basic model is equipped with a 17.3-inch screen with Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080), Ryzen 3 2200U processor with integrated Radeon Vega 3 GPU, 8 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM (up to 32 GB) and 1 TB hard disk operating at 5,400 rpm.
There are 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, an optical reader, an M.2 slot for an SSD, a card reader, a USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm jack compatible with headphones with microphone, while the power is fed by a 42 Wh battery.
The price of the basic version, equipped with Windows 10 Home 64 bit, is $679.99 in the US market – a price that should be close to that for the European market, although the laptop is not available in Italy at the moment. You can opt for Windows 10 Pro by adding an additional $60, or for 12 GB of RAM with an additional $50.
The upper model, offered at $ 899.99, is equipped with APU Ryzen 5 2500U with GPU Radeon Vega 8. The RAM provided as a base is 16 GB, expandable up to 32 GB, and remains of DDR4 2,400 MHz. remainder of the equipment is identical, except for the hard disk that passes to a capacity of 2 TB while maintaining the rotation speed at 5,400 rpm.
A further version, equipped with the Ryzen 7 2700U processor, should make its debut the future, according to what is indicated in the product manuals.
