Dell XPS 15: Here is the new 15-inch laptop without frames
Dell has announced the new variant of Dell XPS 15, famous laptop with InfinityEdge display and extremely reduced frames.
Dell announced the new Dell XPS 15, a new model of a product family that revolutionized the industry’s high-end segment a few years ago. The new model is marked as the most powerful ever in the series of notebooks with extremely reduced frames, and gains eighth-generation Intel Core processors with a maximum of 6 cores, and GeForce GTX 1050Ti video cards for solutions at the top of the range. The new XPS 15 implements UltraSharp 4K Ultra HD dipslay with the characteristic InfinityEdge touch technology, boasting 100% coverage of the AdobeRGB gamut.
It is the smallest 15.6″ laptop, according to the manufacturer, one of the few to be able to insert a panel of the diagonal inside a form factor typical of models with a 14″ display. The notebook is offered with Intel Core i5-8300H, i7-8750H and Core i9, supported by a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 32 GB of DDR4 Dual Channel RAM for a total of two SoDIMM modules.
The choices for the GPU will be three: a basic version with integrated Intel Graphics 630, and two versions with dedicated GPUs NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050Ti. The notebook is sold with Full HD and Ultra HD 4K, both IPS.

Only the 4K variant is touch, but based on the details released by the company both panels are of the highest quality. The Full HD model boasts a 100% gamut on the sRGB standard with a 1200: 1 contrast ratio and a maximum luminance of 400 nit.
The Ultra HD model, on the other hand, will have a contrast ratio of 1500: 1 and a touch matrix. Different storage variants: the basic one provides a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD, then we have a version with 256 GB NVMe SSD, a version with 1 TB hybrid HDD, and versions with 512 GB SSD and 1 TB. Laptops will have two USB 3.1 ports with PowerShare, an HDMI 2.0, and a card reader.
The dimensions and weight data are very important: the surface is 357 x 235 mm, with a thickness of 11 to 17 mm. The weight is from 1.8 to 2 kg, depending on the version: the final result affects the presence or absence of the touchscreen and the battery, which can be from 56Whr or 97Whr, depending on the model.
The laptop is equipped with Killer 1535 wireless adapter with support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1, and a plate Gorilla Glass 4 on the variant with 4K panel. Dell XPS 15 will be available at a base price of $1,000.
New Dell XPS 15 2-in-1
Alongside the traditional model, we find the new Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 that the manufacturer had shown at CES. According to the company, it is the world’s most powerful 15-inch 2-in-1 with the eighth-generation Intel Core processor, the Radeon RX Vega M GPU and the 16 GB RAM of the top-of-the-range solution. It can install a maximum of 32 GB.
This model is offered with Intel Core i5-8305G and i7-8705G CPU, while there are two variants for the display, both 15.6 inches and touchscreen, but with support at different resolutions: Full HD and 4K Ultra HD. The thickness is from 9 to 16 mm, while it is worth mentioning the support for the Premium Active Pen, to be purchased separately for $99.99. The laptop will have a basic cost $1,300.
