Contrary to what has been hoped for by the latest rumors and with a surprise exit, DJI announces the new drum Phantom 4 Advanced.
This goes as far as the mid-range between the original Phantom 4 and the Phantom 4 Pro, taking back most of the features from the latter (such as the great 1 ” 20MP Sony sensor).
The difference between the Phantom 4 Pro and the Phantom 4 Advanced is very vulnerable: the new ultrasonic sensors and the 2 infrared sensors of the FlightAutonomy system are missing again, it also does not support the 5.8GHz frequency and TapFly flight mode back.
The main features of the drone are a 30-minute flight time, the GPS+GLONASS positioning system assisted by a set of 5 sensors for visual positioning, 7 KM range of free air and advanced automatic flight systems such as DRAW mode, Active Track tracking, TapFly (point selection by pressing on a point in the camera, Gesture mode and RTH.
The hottest features are reserved for the camera, a unit driven by a 1″ sensor with mechanical shutter and the ability to shoot video at 4K to 60fps in H.264 or 4K / 30fps in H.265, both with a bitrate of 100Mbps. The captured photos will have a resolution of 20MP, there is the option to choose the focus point by touch on the screen as well as varying all the ” classic ” parameters of a camera (aperture, time, ISO) Optical is a 24 mm (35mm) aperture with f/2.8 and f/11 aperture and is stabilized (together with the body of the chamber) by the 3-axis gimbal embedded in the chassis.
The Phantom 4 Advanced, like the 4 Pro, will be sold in 2 versions, both already available on the DJI site: the base has a remote control with a tablet or smartphone support, while the other version will have the Radio remote control introduced with the Phantom 4 Pro, with a 5.5″ FullHD 1000nit screen with pre-installed flight software. Mobile compatibility is guaranteed with iOS and Android and DJI GO 4 software.
