DJI Smart Remote Controller with integrated display
At CES 2019, DJI presented a novelty regarding its drones of the Mavic line. This is the DJI Smart Remote Controller that integrates a screen and its own operating system (based on Android).
DJI Smart Remote Controller with integrated display was presented at CES 2019. As you can guess from the name, it is a new controller of the Chinese company that aims to make it easier to command the drones in addition to viewing the images captured by the camera.
The new DJI Smart Remote Controller allows you to control the drones of the DJI Mavic line without having to take smartphones or other mobile devices with you. The integrated screen has a diagonal of 5.5″ that is attached to the controller but can also be connected to the OcuSync 2.0 up to a Full HD resolution.
According to the company, DJI Smart Remote Controller has a display designed to be used outside and under direct sunlight. The brightness reaches up to 1000 cd/m² while at the base of the operating system there is Android.
The interface is customized and supports DJI GO 4, DJI Pilot and other third-party apps. With the former, you can use SkyTalk so that you can stream on various social networks like Facebook, Instagram and WeChat.
The specifications show that the 5000 mAh battery of DJI Smart Remote Controller has a duration of 2.5 hours and the ability to operate at temperatures from – 20°C up to 40°C. The maximum distance between drones and controllers is 8 km (FCC), 4 km (CE), 4 km (SRRC) and 4 km (MIC). Connectivity includes Wi-Fi Direct, Wireless Display, 802.11 a/g/n /ac, Wi-Fi with 2 × 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2.
The storage capacity is 16 GB expandable with microSD, incorporates GPS / GLONASS and has a weight of 630 grams. The US price is $649 and currently Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom are supported.
