Epson SureColor SC-P400 is the new Epson A3+ printer. Pigments, versatility and an eye on consumption, to meet professionals and enthusiasts.
Epson today announces the professional A3+ photo printer Epson SureColor SC-P400, dedicated to professional photographers as for photography enthusiasts.
The printer comes with a compact (6,22 x 3,24 x 219 mm) and uses a print engine with 7 inks Gloss Optimizer. The ink set is the UltraChrome HiGloss 2 pigment, which should ensure good versatility, as required by the relevant public. Pigmented inks guarantee generally, an excellent performance on porous papers and Fine Art, while the gloss optimizer should improve the yield on glossy paper.
The new Epson SureColor SC-P400 will also as a versatile media handling, as usual Epson: thanks to a rear loading straight, you can use cards up to 1.3 mm thick, rolls, and you can print on CD / DVD.
The print resolution is now stable for some time on the 5,760 x 1,440 dpi, but it is worth pointing out as one of the advantages of Piezo technology is the ability to easily adjust the volume of Gocci ink and how, with a minimum size of 1.5pl, the SureColor SC-P400 is placed at the top of its class.
Some attention was also paid to fuel consumption, with 14 ml cartridges that, according to Epson are among the most affordable photo printers pigment. They have not yet been disclosed information on the purchase price and the consumables, but it seems clear that this model will be positioned below the current Epson SureColor SC-P600, sold just over $700. On sale from 1st November 2015.
