Radeon R9 380 ITX Compact Edition is the name of the new video card proposed by Sapphire, with GPU Radeon R9 380 and characterized the overall length very contained.
There is more and more interest from the video card manufacturers to make available models that combine the latest generation of GPU to particularly compact overall dimensions, not so much in terms of the overall width of the total length.
Hence the availability of various video cards compared to a standard width of 2 slot on the motherboard, have a very limited length and to allow an easy installation inside houses compatible with Mini-ITX motherboards.
Sapphire has introduced the Radeon R9 380 ITX Compact Edition, which as the name lets you easily understand combines a new GPU family’s 300 in a very compact form factor. The overall length is reduced to only 171 mm, without prejudice to the lateral dimensions equal to 2 slots.
The Radeon R9 380 uses a GPU with 1792 stream processors operating at a clock frequency of 980 MHz, combined with 2 Gbytes of GDDR5 video memory with effective clock frequency of 5.600 MHz. More information on this card is available on Sapphire this address.
For the next few weeks is expected the debut card AMD Radeon R9 Nano, proposed compact size GPU family Fiji in conjunction with memory HBM, High-Bandwidth Memory. It’s the use of this technology that has allowed to reduce the overall size of this card, as you no longer use traditional chip GDDR5 memory which occupy considerable space on the PCB of the card and will require a greater length.
