Fenix 5 Plus: Garmin improves the most complete smartwatch on the market
Despite the name chosen, the new Fenix 5 Plus range introduces numerous important innovations: nothing changed on the outside but under the body new features that enrich even more this family of sports watches.
Garmin has announced the new range of sportwatches of the Fenix family, presenting the Fenix 5 Plus, Fenix 5S Plus and Fenix 5X Plus models. The change of name with the maintenance of the numerical indication suggests that there are few novelties of this family but so is: the 3 new models of the Fenix family introduce important innovations.
The first is the implementation of color mapping for all models, a feature previously limited to only the Fenix 5X model: the 16 GB of built-in memory allows you to save maps and access them while surfing outdoors.
The second is the support to music, thanks to an integrated memory and compatibility with Bluetooth headphones: this feature is borrowed from the model Forerunner 645 Music, a few months on the market. Also from the latest Garmin models, support was also given to Garmin Pay, the contactless payment system developed by Garmin.

Garmin also intervened by improving the quality of the GPS signal by implementing the Galileo GPS algorithm along with new hardware components: the resulting are more precise traces. In the Fenix 5X Plus model the PulseOx technology has been implemented, through which the level of oxygen in the blood is measured through the readings of a special sensor positioned in the back part in contact with the skin.
Always for Garmin Fenix 5S Plus has extended the autonomy, reaching up to 32 hours with GPS active and signal detection every second: this feature is particularly interesting for those who dabbles with long distance trail and can ” stand on their own legs ” more 24 hours when participating in a race.

From an aesthetic point of view the new models take the same characteristics as the predecessors Fenix 5: Fenix 5S Plus is the smallest model of the 3 (42mm case), while the Fenix 5 Plus has the average size that will be chosen by most users (47mm case).
Fenix 5X Plus, finally, has the screen with the largest size and as mentioned is the only model that implements the hardware required by the PulseOx technology (52mm case).
