Fitbit has now updated its bestseller making the new Fitbit Charge 3 water resistant up to 50 meters, with – finally – the ability to track even the sports in the water. Fitbit has also inserted on this device the SpO2 sensor that measures blood saturation.

Fitbit has also inserted on this device the SpO2 sensor that measures the saturation of the blood, as already done on Ionic and Versa: the company should finally officially turn on the sensor (before it was available to developers, but was not used by official app) to test the monitoring of sleep disruptions, which may be indicators of health problems such as allergies, asthma or sleep apnea, with the beta version of Sleep Score by Fitbit Labs.
The American company then worked to fine-tune both sleep detection algorithms and the PurePulse pulse heart rate technology, for even greater accuracy than Charge 2 and to provide a more accurate calculation of calories burned and of resting heart rate.
Among the compromises to keep content encumbrance, there is always the lack of GPS, so to keep also the geographical track of your workouts you must bring your smartphone and use the shared GPS function. Instead, the battery grows, which should now guarantee up to 7 days of battery life. Smart smartphone and notification capabilities remain a key feature, while new applications such as the calendar will be added to Charge 2.
Fitbit does not hide that it wants to aim to get its trackers in the list of medical devices, starting from the United States: here are the words of the release.
