How the minutes work in the active zone
Minutes in the Active Zone deserve additional mention, a feature that arises from the need to optimize workouts based on the habits and needs of each individual user. The function allows you to understand better how individual physical activity contributes to your general well-being.
To work, the feature uses heart rate monitoring data collected by the bracelet and personalized cardio zones to track the effort of each intense activity.
This gives you credit for every minute of moderate activity in the Fat Burn zone and a double credit for every minute of intense activity in the Cardio and Peak areas: the calculations are done automatically, to help you easily track your progress towards your activity goals daily and weekly.
During training, you receive real-time alerts that warn you when you change zones, to evaluate whether to increase or reduce effort and thus make workouts more effective. At the end of the Fitbit app, a summary of the cardio zones appears, and so you can find out your progress and continue to go further, to give value to every minute of activity.
The Active Zone Minutes will initially be available only on Fitbit Charge 4, but will soon be released on all Fitbit SmartWatches.
