Galaxy Note 3 – Review

Thanks to Samsung, we got to try for over a week the new Galaxy Note 3. I give this product the phablet for excellence. Nothing to do with the Nokia Lumia 1520, and I will explain why in the course of this review. This product provides everything a user could want from a device tech touch-screen display and large resolute, maximum power hardware, S-Pen built, Good battery and appearance are not bad.

Let’s start looking aesthetic, then going to analyze every single feature of this product, sold today at a price ranging between $600 and $700, although you can find on offer a little more than $500. Take a look at the box TechDatabase found at the bottom to investigate the matter further purchase.

Galaxy Note 3 – Design

Unlike the other Galaxy Note launched by Samsung, this third-generation model does not offer a plastic back. Samsung had the bright idea of using a synthetic leather with stitched effect, that pleases everyone who had become tired of seeing the usual plastic, saving the processing of aluminum, expensive and not at all during the rapid mass production.

The optical effect given by this texture is fantastic. Both to touch and to the eye. We tried the white model and after a week of heavy usage, we found no excessive dirt. If by the time this leather tends to turn yellow, but you can easily replace the back cover is completely removable.

The dimensions remain important. We find 15 inches high, 8 inches wide and almost a little more than 8 mm thick. Despite the important, dimensions weigh relatively little, just 168 grams.

Galaxy Note 3 – Display

Not bad also present on this display Galaxy Note 3. Personally, I have always hated the calibration of the display Samsung, but this Note 3 has been able to bewitch some respects. The coloring is always high, but this time the final effect, perhaps because it is spread over a larger surface area, it is better. The resolution is Full HD, or 1920 × 1080 pixels, with a density of pixels per inch (PPI) equal to 386.

Difficult to utilize this huge display with one hand, but fortunately, Samsung has integrated a very interesting feature that allows to shorten the surface of the operating system, making it also usable with one hand. For more details about take a look at the video review that found its full below.

Galaxy Note 3 – Hardware

Another positive note covers hardware specifications. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has integrated into this a 3 quad-core processor, 2.6 GHz with less than 3 GB of RAM.

You can run heavy applications, even simultaneously, without experiencing the slightest lag. It is a high-profile hardware equipment, which must be completed with a 32 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD up to 64 GB.

S Pen – I did not feel the S Pen from the old notes of the first generation. Well, I must admit that progress has been so many over the past two years. Now this stylus is very accurate and the physical button on it to access many more features, such as Air Command, which offers shortcuts to features dedicated just to the S Pen.

The Note 3 is a device suitable for everyone. The S Pen is the proof. With it, you can take notes quickly, very useful at work, but also in their free time, perhaps to clip out a phone number or drawing. It’s integrated, so you can just pull out in time of need.

Camera – The rear-mounted camera by Samsung on this phablet is 13 megapixel camera with BSI sensor, auto focus, intelligent, LED flash and zero shutter lag. It is capable of recording 1080p video at 60 fps, but also 4K at 30 fps. Here is an example of a photo taken at the highest resolution while below a recorded video in 4K quality (12/2 – 73 MB).

Battery – Mixed blessing, or rather, cross and delight, I saw that the battery was fully satisfied while the operating system unfortunately not. The battery life has reached about 2 days with average use. This means that with heavy usage will be able to arrive safely at the end of the day. The operating system is still to Android 4.3, even if Samsung is slowly updating to Android 4.4. Unfortunately, the TouchWiz customization is not to my liking. The interface seems light years behind compared to other mobile operating systems like iOS or Android version 4.4 KitKat stock.

It must be admitted that many native apps and additional features designed and made by Samsung, including the various gestural features, complete the features of this product, so that it becomes even more useful. Too bad for the interface here, which we hope can be significantly improved by the new TouchWiz that the South Korean giant is preparing for the Galaxy S5 coming.

Galaxy Note 3 – Connectivity

We end the review talking about the connections offered by this Galaxy Note 3, which is equipped with NFC chip, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac. Obviously, it lacks support the 4G LTE network.
