Color Enhancer improves the visibility of the web pages. The extension is developed by Google Accessibility team and is designed for users who have difficulty distinguishing colors.
The team Google Accessibility has announced the release of a new extension for Chrome designed for users who have difficulty distinguishing colors. Color Enhancer adds a customizable filter that can be applied to all web pages and is mainly aimed at users partially color blind.
Color blindness is a dyschromatopsia, or one of the various possible perceptions of colors than that considered normal. It’s not as rare as it might seem: afflicts about 10% of the world population, with a prevalence of men over women. It is a considerable defect of view, although in some cases allows the vision of color tones instead invisible to those who have a vision ” normal “.
There are cases in which the visibility of the texts in web pages is compromised for those suffering from partial color blindness, especially if the same pages are designed without considering the various discromatopsie. Usually, the texts are available in high-contrast situations, but poorly designed sites displaying them is tricky if you do not have a normal vision of color tones.
It is in these cases that Color Enhancer can dramatically improve the user experience of web users with discromatopsie. If before it was necessary to use cumbersome solutions (copy and paste the text of external applications for example, or access various ways of reading), now have access to a specific tool that makes the pages more visible.
Color Enhancer is already available on the Chrome Web Store, a download and free.
