Google Glass Enterprise Edition has finally appeared in the FCC documentation. The company has never spoken publicly.
In the course of 2015, came out the first rumors of a new model of Google Glass designed for the world of work. Months have passed since then, and the new product have appeared the first images along with FCC certifications. Called Enterprise Edition, the new iteration of Google Glass could have totally revised hardware and aesthetics different but not too different from that of the first versions.
The promising Google Glass never reached the consumer market, and have been proposed only in prototype form for a niche audience and at a price much higher. According to the new images the new model is particularly similar to the Explorer Edition we already knew, but adds a folding structure and extremely easy to carry when the product is not worn.
Inside the new Google Glass Enterprise Edition will find, according to rumors leaked to date, an Intel Atom highly frugal that should deliver better performance, less heat generated and operational autonomy considerably higher than the Explorer Edition. It should also improve the support for connectivity, with full compatibility to Wi-Fi 5 GHz.
The new model could arrive with a new battery pack magnetic latching (which to date has never appeared publicly) to be installed only when needed to correct the problem most disabling of Google technology: its autonomy. The device implements a prism sturdier and larger for the ” display “, with solutions that make it more resistant to impact the workplace.
The new Google Glass for businesses are also resistant to intrusion of liquids and powders. The Enterprise Edition will be distributed probably only start-up Google for Work, which will design special software that can meet the specific needs of the individual company. Even then this issue should reach the general public, for a product that unfortunately has disappointed the expectations of the fans in several respects.
Google has never officially announced the existence of Google Glass Enterprise Edition, although the recent appearance in the FCC documentation leaves no room for doubt. In recent months, several sources confirmed that the product has long been in the hands of many startups Google for Work, who are working to make use of Google Glass increasingly profitable in the working world.
