Google has released a new app in beta that lets you use any of the Android smartphone function with only the use of the voice.
Google’s voice recognition system is among the best on smartphones, Google Now, the most comprehensive server and rooted on Android devices. Through the use of two features, the user can issue basic commands to the device, or search of any kind of Google.
It does not allow to manage your smartphone or tablet in all its complexity, a task that can be done now with Google Voice Access, a new app released in beta by the Mountain View company.
The basic concept behind the new Google application is simple: the app positions a few small icons numbered side of the elements of the operating system screens, the user can tell the system to perform an action with a specific number.
It is an approach designed for users with temporary or permanent disabilities, but which may also be of help to many others, for example while cooking or driving.
At the time of writing it is unfortunately no longer possible to access the beta program. Google has reported that it has ” reached the sufficient number of testers in the program ” and does not accept other users.
Voice access is currently only available in English and those who have tried it praised the speed and availability of commands, even quite complex. It allows you to actually use your smartphone even when you do not have the physical access.
The company did not unfortunately signaled a date for the eventual availability of Voice Access for the public, although, given the solidity and stability of the application at its first release, it is likely that we will see soon on Google Play Store for all Android users.
The news was announced along with other accessibility features within the various Google platforms: you can find more details on the topic on this page.
